2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Oh, I know how this works ...

First, you get a polite litte message. Then, if you don't pay someone shows up on your doorstep with a couple of friends and some baseball bats.

Why do they always pick an Italian guy to do the collections work?

Thanx Frankie - you just blew my cover

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

I have a couple questions if anyone can help. The banner says Sept 23-25. The registration says Sept 22-25. Thought I could figure it out by clicking on schedule of events, but all I get is the banner again. Is your spouse considered a guest for the registration? We will be on a Motorcycle trip and would drive in instead of fly. Do I show up at the airport or hotel? Have not been to one of these since 2006 so any help would be appreciated. Thanks Brad Docken N762DC 78/114

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Brad

The 23rd is on a Friday and the event runs to Sunday. There are a bunch of folks flying in earlier in the week, and there are golfing and other events available for those who come in earlier (see the info on the web site).

I am flying in on Friday and expect that there will be some folks at the airport since many will come in for the weekend only.

Depending on what time you get into town either the airport or hotel will work.

I would pass the airport before going to the resort and if you are early you might not be able to check in till after lunch.

Here is a link to the scheduled events.

Brad ... great pic. My Nephew flies B-1's out of there ... although he may be in Texas most recently. His crew flew at EAA OSH a couple of years ago and several of our guys met him. Didn't know they shared the airport with GA.

Hi Brad,

I see your questions have been answered except the one about your spouse. You are correct. If she's not a paid member, she is considered your guest.

Glad to see you'll make the Fly-In. There'll be plenty for you and your wife to do as you've already read.

Not to change the subject but I'm glad to hear you are still riding. I recall talking with you about riding at the 2006 Fly-In. I rode out to your great state for the rally last week. Spent a week in Deadwood. The riding out there was awesome!

Vince - do you have a list of the gig attendees? BTW if you are at Brackett on Sunday 8/21, you might see N4792W - will be lunching at Norm's around 1PM.

Hi Carol,

Delighted that you'll be at Sedona. We're still putting together the list of attendees and I'm afraid it will be a while before it's complete, as there has been a rush of last minute sign-ups. We'll probably have something in a week or so.

And sorry, I won't see you at POC this Sunday as I have another commitment.

I'm sending you a PM re: Sedona. Please be sure to check it and get back to me.

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Hey,

I just signed up for the fly-in. I have a question about golf.
Is the:

"Poco Diablo Resort Executive Golf Course Mini Golf Tournament
Hosted by Pete Sattig."

the same as the:
"Annual COG Golf Classic"

???
I think my driver would be overkill for the Poco Diablo Pico Golfo courso.

I am looking forward to one or both.

Hi Dave,

Glad to hear you'll be at Sedona.

There are actually two Golf Tourneys and both are hosted by Pete.

The first one (the real one) will be on Thursday at a local Country Club. Tee times, location, etc. will be announced as soon as Pete forwards the details.

The second one is indeed at the Executive Course at the Poco on Friday morning, for the less adventurous (or hungover crowd).

See ya then.

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Don't miss the exec course and you won't need more than a wedge, a putter, and a 12-pack.

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News
