Commander Owners Group Annual Fly-in

The 2010 Commander Owners Group Annual Fly-in takes place September 24-26 at the spectacular Jekyll Island Resort in Georgia. Located right on the ocean and with a private runway (09J) located within walking distance to the hotel, this year's fly-in promises to be spectacular! In late September the water promises to still be warm and the evenings pleasant. COG has reserved 50 rooms in two resort hotels for our group.

For those who come earlier in the week, there is no additional fee and we are planning multiple golf outings and fly-outs to various coastal locations. The resort itself has a wide variety of amenities such golf, tennis, water activities, and a variety of health and fitness services.

To register, please complete and submit the COG Registration Form below and pay the registration fee to COG. Our Treasurer, Bob Tippens, will confirm your payment via email and provide you with a code number to use when you call to reserve your room at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel.

You should then contact the hotel at (800) 535-9547 and make your reservations. The discounted COG rate is $165/night (suites $245).

Rental cars won't be required if you're staying at the Jekyll Island Club Hotel. We've arranged shuttle service to help with bags all weeked. If you're staying at another hotel or just want some wheels for sightseeing, contact Richard Vanderstein at Red Bug (912) 635-9330 for two choices:

small island only vehicles (limited to 35mph)
regular autos from minivans to compacts

Make sure you mention you are with the Commander Owners Group when you call to receive a discounted rate.

For flight planning, note that there is no fuel at the Jekyll airport but a full service FBO is located at Saint Simmons Island (SSI) about 10 miles away. Brunswick Golden (BQK) about 15 miles away is another option.
