Hi All,

Many of our seat tracks are in trouble. Some of you will need new tracks and I understand that Glenn and others may be investing some time and money into that effort. Meanwhile, many tracks are repairable, in place, with proper tools.

Aerodyme is pleased to now offer a track repair tool kit rental. See attached pics. The kit contains the necessary tools for forming flared flanges back up/down, and for expanding tracks that are damaged inward back out to normal width. The key is the set of custom tapered anvils.

We also now offer FAA-approved, and improved, roller assemblies in case your balls are falling out. See pic.

Technical support available, as always.

Jim

Really tempting, but I'm going to wait for someone else to post an appropriately salacious comment.

:)

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

(I caught that, too... ;- ) good post, Jim, but should also be fun.

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

Can the problem be solved by keeping our pants on?

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

Oops, bearings of course :)

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

Oh I am trying to picture what an uncomfortable call to Jim that would be.

Id need to call him alone in a dark room after a few beers for this conversation.

"Hi Jim, this is Tim. Ive got a problem".

Jim - "what now?".

Me - "Jim, my balls are falling out".

Jim- "well can you find them? Are they rolling around loose?"

Me- "Yes, Ive got them. They are in a jar by my wifes bed"

Jim - "Are they damaged and what size are they?"

Me- "Yes, very damaged from years of neglect. (verrry quietly) and they are small now"

Jim - "Well you are hosed then. Sorry. Should have called me years ago."

Back to the beer......

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

that would likely be ED not AD, Rob. (sorry, couldn't help it)...

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

Maybe Jim can sell a "package" deal with those and the Cylon balls! Never can have too many.......

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

How about a fix for the left one being lower than the right?

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

Could have used and rented that kit a couple of weeks ago after removing my seats without a notch, and then doing the SB and installing the notches and drove me NUT'S!!! I found Two Balls missing in my pilots seats too when I finally got them out and the past owner had some real issues with both pilot Balls near the front end of the seat.

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

Paul, how do you find the seat removal process now with the notches ? Pretty neat eh ?

Re: Seat Track Repair Kit

Tony,

I haven't put the front seats back in yet as I just started ripping out my panel and the seats get in the way, a lot easier to work on the panel with the two front seats out too. I am still waiting for two new seat bearings that I found missing and ordered and have come in yet, and did the SB and cut in the seat notches into the track and sure it will it will be pretty simple to reinstall them.
