Hi All,
We are often asked if we can sell individual bushings and bearings for the elevator and rudder hinges.
Because our kit is approved by an FAA Form 8110-3 issued for each individual aircraft, we only make the initial sale as an entire kit that authorizes the use of the Aerodyme replacement parts at all eight of the empennage hinge positions, and includes a complete set of parts. After the initial kit purchase, we are pleased to provide additional individual parts as may be needed for future service of the same airplane due to ordinary wear.
Also, as we know from our 25,000 hours of Commander maintenance experience, it is almost always time to service the entire empennage when excessive wear is noted as any one, or few, hinges. The wear at some of these locations is hard to detect until the surfaces are removed, but nonetheless is important to also eliminate.
