Betty and I will be there starting on Saturday Aug 30.
We will be doing the traditional Commander Group at Friar Tucks on Saturday night and Fratellos - Oshkosh (Fox River Brewing) on Sunday night

Depending on weather conditions then and some squawks that need to get resolved before I'll likely be there from 7/27 thru 7/31, camping at the North 40.
This will be my third, with last year being my first in a Commander.
Just curious but on the Fisk arrival do most experienced Commander/Oshkosh pilots come in at the lower 90kts/1,800MSL or higher 135kts/2,300MSL apporach level and drop gear & flaps to make a quick descent to the first spot ie: orange on R27? Last year being new to the Commander I did the lower route and it was painfully slow and very congested.

In your 112, you are definitely a 90kt buggy. Bear in mind the reference speed is an expected maintained minimum. Imagine your joy following a Pietenpol in the 90 kt pattern and that is how you will appear to the other cats in the 135 conga line. Congestion is part of the drill on the Fisk. Neither pattern is a place for amateurs; but sadly too many show up wanting to play in the sand box.

I plan to arrive by July 26th and depart Aug 4th. We will be traveling in an RV (recreational vehicle, not a Van's...). Wanted to fly, but my friend has to man a display, needed the space to haul a bunch of stuff, and asked me if I would co-drive with him. "Camping" in the RV will be a lot nicer than tent camping, so...

I am planning to 'do Oshkosh'. Fly in, camp under tail, etc. As for Arrival dates, like Roger -depends on weather, but if the 'official' Commander/COG gathering is Saturday the 2nd of August, will 'Air Adventure'all week. Think it's better to arrive earlier in week rather than later. Plan is to watch weather, be ready for departure Saturday the 26th. That's what Sid & I have talked about-if he doesn't have his plane he said he has another option.

In the past, the airport parking filled up early. The planes would come in early or wait until late in the week after some have left. That has not been as much of a problem the last couple years. Depends on the weather forecast.
We like to get there early and watch the planes come in. It is a good time to visit the planes because the owners are around the area. After the show opens, it is hard to find people.
The Fly Market is open on Sunday and the show starts on Monday.
You can get in on Sunday with Mondays ticket.

I am planning to come to Oshkosh from North Carolina on Sunday July 27 and leave on Thursday July 31. I have been to Oshkosh five times, but the last was 2005 when I took my wife with me. This time I will be flying in with two pilot friends, but in a Cessna 182 owned by one of them (cuts down on fuel expense!). So I will be looking for other Commanders on the field, but nobody will be able to see 62J!
I am hoping for good weather this year, and I hope to see some of you while I'm there.

And just an update regarding the new Commander Aircraft. We now understand that they will not be officially exhibiting as Oshkosh this year. Apparently the timing was just too tight given the recent/ongoing move.
