Pam and I will be arriving on Sunday the 27th and departing Thursday the 31st.
We will be camping in the North 40. We are always well stocked, so please stop by.

In the past, the airport parking filled up early. The planes would come in early or wait until late in the week after some have left. That has not been as much of a problem the last couple years. Depends on the weather forecast.
We like to get there early and watch the planes come in. It is a good time to visit the planes because the owners are around the area. After the show opens, it is hard to find people.
The Fly Market is open on Sunday and the show starts on Monday.
You can get in on Sunday with Mondays ticket.

It always seems to work out best for Conor and I to come late in the week. Arriving Wednesday evening, Thursday anytime or Friday morning, we have never once had a problem parking like they do earlier in the week. This year we will arrive early Friday morning.

Arriving in the area late in the day Friday Aug 1st. Will be at the show all day Saturday Aug 2nd.
Driving in due to other plans after the show.
Staying at the Holiday Inn in Neenah.

Hope to have a chance to catch up to everyone.

Alas, best laid plans go awry.

Unfortunately I won't be able to make the planned trip this year.

Closest I'll get to OSH this year is seeing the B-29 "FiFi" overfly my house this AM giving tours in the SLC area. Quite a thrill!

Since it's my first AirVenture as a COG'er, can someone tell me what the "usual" start times are for Friar Tuck's and Fratello's? How do we connect there? I'm not sure how I'll get there, since the camper won't be very "mobile", but I will have a bike... (?!)

Peter & Rob-great! Remember meeting plane load of Aussies on chartered flight at Oshkosh begore. Very cool! And any info/documentation stories on how Commanders were ferried across Pacific?

Well, Rob: keep up the wishing! Body follows mind. Our Last Oshkosh was 1994. 95- Aging parents issues through next decade. Then Camp Camellia project. I Can't believe it's been 20 years. So we are Turning back the clock to utilize Boy Scout Aviation/Merit badge Airplane Camping skills. Happy to have my also retired teenager (also on Social Security) coming with me again. We are going to have fun fun fun and no T bird taken away-well, Tbirds performance this year. Glad so many of our characters participating.

My Jaguar friend's/ ( & neighbor) daughter married an Aussie several years ago, they moved to Australia two years ago, now that the kids are growing up. My friends spent 2 months on your continent last January/February. We both have communicated for decades with your Jaguar & Jensen owners. Small world today. Post more! Share your flughts!

Thanks Sherman for your thoughts. I spoke with Peter on the phone this morning, and he is certainly looking forward to meeting up with US owners.
His 114 is a first class example of a Rockwell. Peter told me also that he will have a beer for me - not sure if you partake, but if you meet him can you make sure he does!

As always it will be good to see you at OSH again. Beth has class so she won't be attending this year. ( I told her to come with me when she has no class :)

My brother Joe and I will be arriving on Saturday and staying until Wednesday or Thursday. Rob it will be good to see you again. Peter, always good to have another Aussie as wingman. I saw Sid the other day at my airport and he will meet us there as well.

Jim, the first gathering is always at the walk-in beer cooler in the grocery store across from Friar Tucks to gather "essentials"! We usually make it Friar Tucks one or two days but there is never and rhyme or reason as to when we go except to try to avoid the peak times. There are several other places to eat nearby as well.

I'll send out a msg when I find what row on in the North 40 we are parked in.
