Our eldest grad’s from Bama the same weekend. Told them to send me a text photo . . NOT!
Out of curiosity, can you coordinate Commander parking? Or is that a bridge too far?

The ONLY way to coordinate parking is to arrive at the same time ... or just get lucky. They just don't have any sensible way to reserve spots. You know what would happen ... one plane flies in Sunday morning, wants to save 12 spots.

I posted this earlier but it is gone! My son Conor and I will host a Friday night gathering. We will have adult bevs but feel free to bring and contribute. We will be happy to cook as well, have a grill, if we know how many will be there by Thursday at noon. Packing then, departing early Fri AM. Looks like potentially 6-10. Good times.

I'll definitely be there, but I will just be a bit later arriving, since I volunteer with the Tram team, and my shift runs from 2PM to 8PM.

Almost forgot to ask: Which Friday are we talking about? 7/25 or 8/1? I suspect it's 8/1, but just wanting to confirm!

Yes, Friday 08/01. Just found out that my family doctor did NOT send a letter to the FAA for my interim approval like they promised ... arrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrgggggggggggghhhhhhhhh .... all it was was a blood pressure check. 114/72 ... no problem, but being a transplant recipient I still have to do it on the odd years under special issuance. Anyway ... wondering now if I will have my medical back by next Friday. MY AME is going to get make a special effort. Not his fault.

Because of Saturday forecast Ohio- West & N into Wisconsin, TRW probable AM &PM at OSH N40- we are departing Friday AM as Accuweather forecasts clear/ Sunny, no weather- all day, all the way. Well that's the latest plan.

Don't want to set up 'Home for the week' on wet grounds. Loaded the baggage today 161.5#, includes Tie downs, Folding table, end table, chairs, backpack chair, double sleeping bag, bedding, tents, mats, shoes bag, cooler, even a hassock. Cabin cover, heat shields, spares, hydraulic service kit, Kitchen & cooking hardware, & Camellia's organic snacks. Our three Clothes duffels for rear seat only 18#each. Oxy tank 16#. No problem its a COMMANDER. But am curious what others tally is for Oshkosh living supplies.

Was at hanger to 1:15 AM- hook up gpss' s, program 3 gps' s, tablet, couple strobe lamps jobs and some cockpit 'refinements'. And figures, mic on headset snapped off-plastic catch obviously age related. May have to look for a new headset deal.

56 hours to departure! Countdown continues!!!

Just to clarify, I am talking Friday August 1, not day after tomorrow. So no Bunns or Murphys. They go early and leave mid week. Just heard from the AME. He does not have it back yet, but he is 95% certain my medical will clear.

Have fun Lonnie ... we should get you to Oshkosh sometime.

We are Row 510, 3 rows East ( toward beginning rny 27) from new green shower bldg, next to Runway.
Yesterday we went organic food shopping for Camellia. Got tour of Oshkosh, then metal relaxation at quiet refreshing Seaplane base. Dennis, selling T shirts, interesting guy from Washington State. Now Sunday AM, will be back at plane unril @noon, then will take trams, refamilarize, head to Tower area. Will call you @ 11 AM.Warbird music superb this morning. We have 1st view Commander seating!!! Great to be back!

The number of planes is way down from last year, "the north forty" and show planes.
It has been declining for a number of years. 10 years ago, the airport was full by noon on Saturday.
The camp ground has grown in size.

Hi Pat! We Caught up with Jim & Joe Bunn on the 27 flightline, watching planes land. Then the 3 storms passed N , but the winds affecting tents, and some passing rain, so we are back at 510 2HT, (2 in Hotel Tango). Watching radar. Thinking we come over with trams, explore and carry cha& hassock for movie - one trip. How did lunch go? A blue /white Commander reported in Ws between 510 and Bunn 517. Will go look at tail#.

Beautiful day here at Oshkosh. Little breezy, some clouds, but not too hot or too cold. We took in a couple seminars and I searcged hardware in the flymart. Just after our mid- morning showers & later morning breakfast, Kelly walking towards us as we were heading off . What a wonderful surprise as I gad put the rablet on charge in the plane (my baggage compartment 12v socket mod (with the Dual USB charger), and didn't see Kelly's post on my cowl thread.

Then after 1 pm seminar, received message from Sid that he's here. We caught up with Sid for his P51/P47 vs Me101 Fokker 91 presentation. Forum was 'Packed.

Then Pat Murphy texted me. Since we haven't caught up yet, I suggested we should all get together tomorrow nite before the Bunns leave. Wednesday I called Jim & Kelly, and we all agreed to the plan.

Tonite,Sid, Ken and friend David retired USAF mechanic, discussed the cowl hardware I found back at N11- us 2 in Hotel Tent/Taffel. We made dinner on the two sterno stoves and tea.
What a great Day!! Camellia especially enjoyed the seminars & the walking. My teenager on Social Security as we turned back the clock 20 years. Todays Adventures.More COG fun to come!! And next is Scott's shindig and Dayton.

Pete: Tjanls for the post! Yesterday was a great Oshkosh day: steady Westerly breeze with T shirt weather. The N40 loop busses and the TrMs were pretty regular and pretty full. The exhibit halls busy and the digital /glass panel equipment from all on full display. The afternoon air show (we watched takeoffs of wsrbirds and formation overflys from the 2HT camp) was wonderful.

Last night just before a series of TRW cells came through from the NE to SW, the COG contingent gathered as planned at the SOS beer gardens. The food was just great, and the company evdn better. Participating were Camellia and I, Jim & Joe Bunn, Jim Duvall, Kelly Grant, Pat & Betty Murphy, and Peter and friend Gary from OZ (Australia). Peter showed us his ipad Australia app and we all talked about his cross continent Australia flights, Melbourne to Perth (hope that's right'-Peter).
Pat told me quite definitively that he expected to see expected to see , (me to post (some)) of the pics we took. I am posting this from my tablet, pics on my & Cs phone. So shortly.

I told Pat 'of course'; I'd even title it 'PREPARING FOR DAYTON', as Pat and our COG team diligently finalizing the event activities and workshops.at's been making manufacturer 'enticements' here to present to us at Dayton. We returned to the campgrounds, by a most welcome ride from Betty & Pat as the temps and dropped significantly and we didn't expect that storm to hit. Fortunately, the tent was totally dry inside. Kelly joined us for the shelter. Great Day & Evening!!
