Pretty exciting day at our local small northern Michigan airstrip, KACB Antrim County - Bellaire. President Biden dropped by. I was parked on the ramp but of course, could not get anywhere near the airport property, but the manager thinks he has a picture with 43W in it with the entourage. Tons of folks lined the route to and from Joe's visit to King's Orchards, a family favorite just 7 miles away. Jill stopped by there during the campaign and I guess told him he had to go -- best donuts around! I guess the families there who were picking cherries and strawberries were pretty surprised. There were Trump folks along the road too, of course, but by all reports were very respectful. I think folks around here were just astounded the president had actually landed at our airport and toured around a bit. Then he was off to Traverse City for the Cherry Festival. We were out on the pontoon when they departed and flew out, Three Osprey, Two Blackhawks, and Marine ONE. Quite a sight to see coming right over us on the lake. Unfortunately, I left my phone/camera at home.

And today ... we were loading up the pontoon again for a big excursion with 10 adults and five little ones and heard a tremendous roar coming up the lake, North to South, and from behind the ridge comes an A-10!!!. Could not have been more than 300 or 400 off the water at the most. About 15 seconds later, after everyone was recovering from the gleeful shock ... here comes another A-10. Again really low and he put it up on a knife-edge and started climbing right abeam our dock. He actually went beyond 90-degree bank for a bit. We all had the impression he did it just for us but, well ... who nows ... but what a thrill. They did not land at our airport. But pretty incredible. Two big aviation happenings in two days at our local lake up here. What's next?

Good to get these visits over, before Oshkosh ramps up. Don’t want to be freaking out pilots just trying to navigate to Fisk.

Between the TFRs at the golf course in NJ over the last 4 yrs and now over new ones Wilmington - they've just add 50 miles to my detours trying to fly south ...
