Didn't know this existed

if it weren't a bigger orphan than our airplane - it would a consideration ( a few dozen built).
At least the Commander 500-600 series were produced in numbers ..

My consideration for a twin is a B58 Baron.

My consideration sequence still remains
AC11-----> Piper Mirage / Matrix ------> B58 Baron------Meridian---> TBM950.

checking my wallet again ...

Moazzam ... if your wallet is large enough, go straight to the TBM from the AC11. I've had a number of flights in them. Very cool aircraft. Lots of power and room up front.

Agree. Definitely a more capable aircraft than either the Baron 58 or the Meridian. A real hot rod that can outfly any twin turboprop and many light jets at a not too bad fuel burn.

The Meridian suffers from very tight CG loading and not a good useful load on top of that. The B58 is a nice aircraft, but it is TIGHT up front - which is why we all fly AC11's and not Bonanzas!

Yeah - not yet.

For now its a set-up journey and no skipping the line.

For me, unfortunately its not a business expense and i generally don't like partnerships.

I would go straight to the Pilatus PC-12 for the extra cargo room :D:D

I have done a lot to make my 112 how I like it. I am content with it as long as I don't look at Moazzam and some other owner's panels. Panel envy comes on strong. Apart from that I am very happy with my plane. The only reason for a change is that I fly by myself. My wife and daughter have a slight fear of commercial flight, so getting them into my plane is a no-go. Unless I can figure out what the A-Team put in Mr T's milk prior to every flight, I will continue to fly alone.

The only option is the SR-22. Dee (wife) will feel more at ease with the parachute. Doesn't matter that most deployments in the SR22 are unnecessary, doesn't matter that if I put the cost of a parachute repack into maintenance, we would be as safe or safer (if cost of repack lessens available cash for proper maintenance). It is all perception.

Her issues are the term "1977" and a pilot with only 450 hours. Instrument rating doesn't mean anything to her. Telling her its a 2010 plane with a parachute has the perception of a safer flight.

If I every want to fly with my wife, someday I may have to make this change. Otherwise, will probably stay with 90W.

Really reduces the utility of the Plane if wife unit won't fly.
I am really lucky I guess - wife goes everywhere with me - (Bahamas, over water - one trip was 57hours in the air)

I am at peace not flying with my wife :-)
Tony, gave me a nice laugh this morning!!

Joel, I always admired your yearly cross-country trips with your wife. My wife wants to go, she's just hesitant and hasn't gone up yet. Hopefully I can get her up this winter when the air is smooth, and get her used to it. Otherwise, my only hope is an SR-22. Although would hate to drop $400-$500K on a used SR-22 only to find she won't go up in that either.

Cheaper to buy her a parachute - I wouldn't tell her that you can't get the door open in flight to use it though.

You could get her together with my wife and maybe she could offer her some guidance.

On second thought might not be worth taking the chance - Charyn might not want to fly again after. :(

Oh oh what problems there are in the world, I was offended because my wife briefly refused to take control.
What a lucky boy I am! :)
