Fredericksburg fly-in events

Sounds like a grand idea. Something different.

I am all about the adventure, Bill. :)

Okay, but I was serious about the Bat Cave. I didn't know if there was an early arrivals itinerary. Something to put on the list of options, if it can be fitted into the schedule.

Re: Fredericksburg fly-in events

My little sis lives just south of there and there are some very cool caves ... much more interesting that you might expect.

Speaking of Fredericksburg Fly-In Events....

If you haven't already, please consider signing up for the Friday dinner. It's not included in the basic Fly-In fee, but it's only $25 more, and you won't find dinner much cheaper in town that Friday!

That weekend in Fredericksburg is Oktoberfest, and it will be insanely busy. You might get into town with your friends, but you'll have a hard time finding anyplace to talk about Commander speeds, and elevator repairs and "where can I find this part?" before being separated by hundreds of Germans!

That's why I planned this... to bring Oktoberfest directly to us, German food, German beer... no driving home after too many Pils! If you come in early, you'll have had plenty of downtown time prior, and if you fly in on Friday, it's easiest to have Oktoberfest within eyesight of your plane!

I hope all will join... Looking forward to raising a beer with all of you!

Prost!

Re: Fredericksburg fly-in events

Anyone know what the count is for the fly in as I am thinking of sending Santa and some X-Mass tree Glycol Fuel Flapper Springs ornaments there? I know Glenn Moore and Radu are in my area and could get them to them and save the freight for may that might be there.

I don't have the latest, but more than 30 planes and 60 people...

Re: Fredericksburg fly-in events

Does one need to go back and add the Friday night and prepay? That seems like the right way to do it. I don't know if I signed up or not so I will check and sign up that way.

I don't drink alcohol so I need some Dr.Pepper or Coke ! :)

Re: Fredericksburg fly-in events

Pete, you are signed up, Herman, you need to go back and add it!

Re: Fredericksburg fly-in events

Done, added two for Friday!

My Xmas tree remains barren. Has Santa completed rounds on all the people on the prior good kid - bad kid lists?

Looks like you signed up one of you, not both. Hope that's Beth! ;)

Re: Fredericksburg fly-in events

Dave ... any fly-out opportunities for Friday or Saturday? Is there a speaker Saturday night?

Re: Fredericksburg fly-in events

Greg is working on a fly-out to LBJ Ranch, but need to work out some details. We have not been able to line up a 'major' speaker for Saturday night.. are you available?

Here is the tentative agenda for T82, I would definitely appreciate any feedback! If anyone wants to suggest (and plan) anything additional, let me know!

Wineries and/or Spa time

Wineries and/or Spa time

We have an opportunity to schedule a custom winery tour if there is interest. That weekend is Oktoberfest in Fredricksburg, which is their busiest weekend of the year. Only option for a custom winery tour would be the day of October 3rd (Thursday). We would need 8-10 confirmed to book and the capacity is 14 people. Cost is $120-$150 depending on the length of the tour and if lunch is included. Email me separately ASAP if you want to sign up for a winery tour. mbmaddox@utexas.edu

The Herb Farm Spa http://www.fredericksburgherbfarm.com/ has openings on Thursday and Friday that week, but they will book up quickly. See the treatment options on their website and contact Janett for reservations: janett@fredricksburgherbfarm.com.

Updated with Golf times (contact Pete), Fly-out, Session details, Car Rental info....

BTW, I will be travelling for the next week, and will be 'iPad only,' so will be in contact with this forum and my email, but not able to make changes to this doc until next weekend!
