Control Yoke Collars

Re: Control Yoke Collars

I’m in for a set thanks

Re: Control Yoke Collars

It can be confusing when old posts are used for new info -- I find myself doing that and finally realizing it is an old post and in some cases very old..

Re: Control Yoke Collars

I think its great when new replacement parts are made available to the fleet. It would be wonderful is everbody was aware of them too. I would like to opt in for any emails that would show the parts or part and where and whom they are available from, and all the imformation, just my two cents worth, for anybody that's listening. Steve

Re: Control Yoke Collars

It's a good idea Steve but I don't know what Aerodyme (or any other vendor) might be doing for direct communication to customers.

One suggestion that would probably help would be to Subscribe to a couple of these Forums here on the COG site where stuff like this gets posted. When you Subscribe, you can choose to get daily or weekly email digests of contents which will give you a 'heads up' that I think you're looking for.

I'd suggest Subscribing to the following Forums:

  • 'And now, a word from our sponsors' (Note, we try to encourage all sponsors to post new product info here so that we have it all in one location but to date haven't been successful. Habits die hard...)
  • 'STC's _ RCM Normalizing'
  • 'STC's - Aerodyme Corporation'

Subscribing is easy. Click on the main Forums display link to list all the forums. Click on the Forum you want to subscribe to, then click the 'Forum Tools' drop-down in the Forum title bar (see picture) and then choose 'Subscribe to this Forum'.

Hey Jim,

Count me in for one set.

Guys - Read back through the post - This is an old thread.
Parts already produced and sold out.
Have no idea if Jim would consider another run.

Re: Control Yoke Collars

Jim did not make a run for the early s/n 112's. The collar design was different. I replied to the email he sent out last year this morning inquiring of the status of the project.

Re: Control Yoke Collars

Quick observation while we're on the subject.

Completed the annual on the 1st and I'll dub this year's as 'Lube annual'. We hit places that probably could have used a squirt of #2 years ago, though I really try and keep up in that area of maintenance.

Lubed the pitch trim so well that the tabs/elevator would not remain in neutral position in flight. You could actually watch the trim drum rotate, Added a couple of lb's of tension to the cables and she's okay now.

Back to this subject, during the annual we took a clean cloth with a few hits of #2 and 'wiped' the yoke shafts. That's all it took, free and smooth - amazing at the difference. Like Chevy Chase on his sled disc :D with the magic wax . . .

Just a light coat -nothing heavy.

Re: Control Yoke Collars

Hi All,

Control yoke collars:

47315-1 (early) and 47355-1 (late).

This collar (bushing) is located inside the mount (socket) where your control columns pass through the instrument panel. As these wear out, the columns become free to slop around in the socket. Not too big a safety issue (until the bushings crack) but cosmetically very undesireable.

In response to recent requests, I am planning a run of approved replacements.

Getting the quantity up would drop the part cost and would help everyone out. If we could get 50 owners on board for a set, I could probably offer each set for $125 including the approval paperwork.

Anybody interested?

Jim

Hey Jim

If you do another run of them I would by a pair.

Re: Control Yoke Collars

Jim when do you think you will have them. Hope your sending out my parts ASAP to Roman Air for my commander (1049J) I am holding up in a motel till the plane is ready.

Re: Control Yoke Collars

Now reading the whole thread and yes looks like a old thread! Jim can you reply on if more will be made?
