Thanks all, I think that's 25 sets thus far. We need 50 sets requested to make the proposed $125/set price.

Each set would include two collars, one for the PIC side and one for the COP side.

If you are making it from something soft and smooth like Delrin I am in for a set. Mine are just fine.. but the plastic they are made of is suboptimal.

Hi Neal,

There is a loading condition that sets a minimum ksi for these parts, but I am planning a modern, slippery, material. In fact, it's the same that we use for a wear band in the dampers. Slightly softer than Delrin, M88 vs M94, and with a lower water absorption %.

We'll count you in!

Jim R. What would make my Co-pilot yoke consistently get a grease like coating on it while the pilot yoke stays shiny and never has the dirty grease on it like the co-pilot yoke? It doesn't matter how often I clean and wipe it down after a few flights it's back with the dirty grease, not bad, in fact very very lightly coated but enough to get your hand dirty if you touch it????

Hi Todd,

Unless you are lubing the tubes, the closest grease to the area would be from the u-joints. Check for a leaking u-joint boot. Another long shot would be a pedal cylinder on that side squirting or misting some fluid as you use the brakes. Check for any wetness at the pedal cylinders, hoses, etc. If it's a dry blackness, it may just be "smoke" from metallic erosion of the tubes. The OEM collars may have a glass fill, we are not sure yet.

Jim,

With a previous Avionics guy (250# +) doing pull-ups on the yoke I'm sure I'm ready for a set. (same guy with the crowbar on the seat install):eek:
But hey, no way I can crawl under there these days . . .:o
