I would (make sure the e dump is up) then make the short trip with the gear down. Do you have a gear motor run light?
Hi Frank, everything I used on the Century IIB worked as it should, heading, track, roll etc. I would have liked the turns when using the heading bug to be about 5 deg more aggressive, but I'm sure that can be adjusted. What would you be willing to pay for the head, servo, and controller...
Aviation Insurance Resources has been very reasonable. (less than half of your lower quote) I do have a fair amount of time in AC11's, however pushing 70........
Note: Find someone to give you some time in one. If you like traveling, Commanders are the best!

Glad to see you didn't buy into the rumors. Commanders are great airplanes and no more difficult to maintain than any other aircraft. Mechanics just need to reference the maintenance manual. You will also find a wealth of knowledge here.
Welcome JJ, also no hangers available at my AP, however I have had some luck subleasing hangers while people are away on vacation. Not ideal, but it can limit your time on the tie downs until one becomes available. You might check with the locals.
