    112 Hot Shot

I have a used 112 Hot Shot system that I'm currently overhauling. I'm going to make it available for sale later this month, and ready for install by the end of April. It will be essentially an all new system with all new, or remanufactured major components, fasteners, and hardware. If interested...

    Hotshot settings and expected numbers

Yours is a straight valve low compression engine. Jim's is an angle valve high compression engine. Your engine makes just 43hp per cylinder. Jim's makes 50hp per cylinder, so you have much wider operating margins. That's why the IO540 is such a great candidate for turbonormalizing! Jim could run...

    Hotshot settings and expected numbers

No problem. I didn't see how what he was saying in the video corresponded very well with what's outlined in the HS POH. I'd prefer to not re-enter the LOP/ROP debate. There are many other threads already available for review concerning this subject.

    Hotshot settings and expected numbers

The POH is pretty detailed about how to operate the system in all of the phases of flight you're asking about. The 112HS and the 114HS are very different animals. The 114HS has an automatic wastegate controller and much wider operating margins. Yes, The TIT is what I monitor for fuel flow. I...

Quick trip to pick up daughter

Thanks Bill. She, and I missed all of you as well. I considered pressing on, but with a failed vac pump, and the haze making it practically IMC it was a little beyond my limits.

    new gas spring door stays

Hi Shane, I have a local AP that will install the gas springs, and landing light kit. It would probably require an overnight, so we'd have to coordinate it in advance. We have a guest house over here, so if you want to fly out with your wife, grab the club car, go out to dinner, and make mini...

    New owner N1250J

We were going to do the door stays, and wing root fairings when we had it for the Hot Shot, but the budget ran a little short. Those are still the first 2 things I'd do to that plane - after securing the nose gear, of course.

    New 115 owner!

Good ol' San Carlos! Anyone visiting California should fly in there once. Coming from the south I'd always fly out over 1/2 Moon Bay and come in from the west. Back then I'd always fly between 9 and 12kft, so was fun to dive in over the coastal range - always a blast. Welcome to the club:-)

    Wing Root Fairings

Thanks to those that ordered. I ordered 2 extra sets to have on hand for anyone that needs them.

    Wing Root Fairings

I'm getting ready to do another run of the wing root fairings, if anyone is interested. I try to kinda batch orders together so I can make them in multiple sets. It saves a lot of time and material for me to do it this way, so if you want a set, call, text, or go on-line and order:-)

    New Commander 114 owner

The 114A started at 14500, but the 114A features started to appear at 14350. If you look closely at the video, some of the interior shots, you can see that they just mocked up the appearance of the double pane windows - it looks like they used some tape, or something across the vent windows...

    US 2020 COG Fly-in?

Actually RCM is the only known source of aviation related information that creates negative Wings credits! You will either have to sign and file a waiver with the FAA denouncing all that you learned, or take 2 additional Wings courses to make up for it:)

    US 2020 COG Fly-in?

There will definitely be formal information sessions given by the RCM team. The sessions will be held at the West Baden Springs Hotel Bar, between 8:00 and 10:00pm Friday and Saturday nights. Immediately following each session will be an optional question & answer, and small group gathering...
