Congratulations! Hopefully - depending on where you are based - there are some others that are not too far away from you. It's quite the adventure!

Thanks John, I just figured out how to do that.

Wow !!! How cool is that - You have the Hoover 114:cool::cool::cool::cool:

I was already ready to buy it, but when I found out that this was the Hoover 114 from the old video, I knew that I had to have it! The logbook entries showing the FAA temporarily reclassifying it as experimental so that Bob Hoover could fly aerobatics in it are a piece of history.

I have a friend at my home airport that has a nice 112. That’s how I got interested in Commanders.

Welcome to Commandership Rob and welcome to the group. You will LOVE your airplane.....

Hi Rob,
Congratulations getting the aircraft you wanted! As many have indicated, the Commanders are fantastic aircraft, and you will enjoy it, and even this forum!
Best regards from the True North,
Pete

Congratulations and welcome Rob!

Welcome Rob.

I have a Hoover signature on my logbook but you got his plane !!

Congrats on the purchase.

That is a beautiful 114 and the Hoover connection makes it even better. Hoover made it fly as good as it looked.

You may have made the best decision in your life! I don't know anything about your life, but this decision to buy a 114 has to at least be in your top 5 decisions.

BTW - if you are flying it from McKinney back to Kentucky, stop by Gladewater 07F for some cheap gas.

93W must hv changed out to single pane glass; Hoover clip showing dbl. pane. it's the 6th fm last '77 produced. didn't know Rockwell started the dbl. pane before the '78's. always thought dbl. pane was only '78s and '79s. : ]

The 114A started at 14500, but the 114A features started to appear at 14350. If you look closely at the video, some of the interior shots, you can see that they just mocked up the appearance of the double pane windows - it looks like they used some tape, or something across the vent windows. They probably did that knowing the video wouldn't come out until the change to double pane had been made. It has the pork chop doors, and the long nose gear doors, but still has the early model door handles.

bet they never figured a bunch of Commander owners would be noticing 42 yrs. later....

Welcome Rob.

I’m hoping that some of his magic rubbed off on the yoke to help us mere mortal pilots!

I felt it in his presence so i am sure that yoke is special ...

I couldn't snuggle up my Rockwell next to his Shrike. That would have been epic

Did have my logbook on me though ..
