Yet another landing gear question... Bill Jansen 33Bravo billjansen@aol.com
I don't think I've seen this particular issue regarding landing gears, I've looked through the myriad of posts, and have not seen this particular situation. Looking through the wiring diagram has not revealed a smoking gun, thought someone may have run against this situation.
The aircraft is a 112, S/N 125 - with the original style hydraulic system.
It appears the landing gear pump sometimes continues to run after the gear is retracted. This does not happen every time, and once the pump shuts off it remains off. The red "gear in transit" light always shuts off at the appropriate time , but watching the volt meter (and whine in the headsets when the alternator is under load) the pump appears to run between 20 and 30 seconds after the in transit light goes off.
I was under the impression that once the gear was up, and all 3 switches are pressed, this shut off the pump. And shuts off the light.
Question is what condition could cause (in a gear retracted position) the in transit light to shut off, but keep the pump running? Stuck relay? Thoughts?
