SuperStream

Re: SuperStream

Hi All,

Based on 38 airplanes thus far, we can say the SuperStream gain does vary ship to ship, within a realm of 5 to 10 KTAS, and usually somewhat with altitude for any given ship, with maximum gain typically right in the old sweet spot of 6-9,000 MSL. An also, I can confirm the top of the gain class is usually the ships that arrive exhibiting noticeable down elevator in cruise, let's say tip offsets of 3/8" or more.

When we do a full empennage job at Aerodyme, we are able to correct both deflection bias and the "twist" that does, in fact, exist on many Commanders, causing the elevators to impart a roll to the ship which has been previously corrected by opposite rigging the flaps if the plane is, in fact, flying straight at the moment.

Happy New Year All!

Does anyone have before and after superstream photos of their elevator to horizontal leading edge? I’m looking at replacing my rib with the double rib in vertical thinking I should do the super stream reposition of horizontal angle of incident

Hi Brent, I do not have before/after pics but saw a substantial reduction in elevator deflection in level flight. Picked up a true 4 knots as well. The fairings reduce drag as well. It’s a good mod to have.

Hi Bill, that’s a beautiful tail…you have a pretty unique Super Streamed Super Commander 112! I’m curious how bad your deflection was initially, and at what altitude do you see 4 ktas? I’m curious what typical cruise performance is for your unique bird in the 6-9k range?
