A short flight to push some buttons and twist a few knobs. Avionics buttonology time as I work on being proficient instead of just current.

Finding a safety pilot here at the beach is pretty much impossible. I have used the full motion sim the last three times I needed to extend my currency.

I may be heading to BQ1 for BBQ, two hours each way but should be a fun day of flying and good eats. Maybe a fly in meet up?

Nope, the real reason is the approach is an LNAV approach, it's on me the pilot to fly the glideslope.]BLOG and VIDEO[/URL]
That approach showed "LNAV+V" on the 480. So if you had switched to NAV in time the autopilot should capture the glideslope (this assumes current software on the 480, wired correctly, etc).

Well I guess you're lucky to have one of those sim machines, depending how much they cost to rent per hour though compared to actual flying. I have lots of choices of safety pilots and often we go in their plane (before someone says I haven't flown the Commander recently). It's nice to know the feel of confidence when descending to near minimums on RW heading in IMC. Depending on when I could prob meet up at Carthage Gary. BTW, I once again enjoyed your video.
