Hi All,

The Plus 20 STC adds 20 gallons of useable fuel to any Commander except for those with factory air conditioning (both won't fit).

Thus:

48 useable becomes 68.
68 useable becomes 88.
88 useable becomes 108.

I have attached a copy of the system installation master drawing below to show where the tank and systems are located.

Operation as follows:

Takeoff normally, then select and fly-down the right tank by 15 gals, or so. Next, select and fly off the left tank. Activate the aux fuel transfer to move the 20 gals of aux fuel into the right tank. Turn off the aux pump and complete the flight normally. The system has auto shut-off.

When there is any aux fuel on board, the fuel weight counts as baggage. we expect the empty weight of the system to be in the 25 to 30 lb range.

The system eliminates the "hat shelf" area on Rockwells. It does not reduce baggage area for Commanders with a flat bulkhead between the bag pit and the tail cone. The system swings open. as pictured, for maintenance access to the tail cone.

Safety is being taken into consideration at every step in the engineering process, and the system will be proven to 18g's (crash load) during certification.

We are offering a special price of $6,900 turn-key to the first ten customers. This system is definitely not for everyone, but will allow some incredible endurance and range for some who want it. Assuming we get a 115 owner on board, I look forward to demonstrating cross country, coast-to-coast with only one fuel stop.

The special pricing will cover our materials and labor but not allow me to recoup any of my engineering and certification costs, so the price will go up to at least $9,900.

Re: Plus 20 Gallons

Jim,

Could this be used in reverse, I have plenty of fuel capacity for those long flights.

If the motor that pumps the fuel is a DC motor, then by changing the polarity the motor would run in the opposite direction. Thus removing unwanted fluids from the cockpit to the holding tank. So increasing the overall range of the aircraft.

Just a thought,

Life is a barrel of fun.

Re: Plus 20 Gallons

Jim sounds like a valuable STC you're providing an additional 1.5 hrs of fuel to the IFR pilot!
