If you land at KISP, it's a very short Lyft ride to the Ronkonkama Train station, which will take you directly into the city. There are also some nice hotels out there by the Airport as well. There's nothing really to see in the area however

If your bringing the wife and kids you might want to stay around the time square area. Make the wife unit happy and catch a show. The intrepid is just a few blocks away along with some major shopping, the tonight show and Saturday night live, do the tree thing at Rockefeller square. The Marriot marquee is dead center time square good starting point.

You know with all this talk on here regarding the requirements for the NY SFRA I'm left feeling even more admiration for the crew of Cactus 1549. To do what they did in that airspace with that amount of controlled traffic, The Class B Exclusions with the little guys like me floating around with the Helicopter traffic. It's truly remarkable what happened that day. I just watched and listened to the NTSB video...

Blue skies all... again thank you all so much for the advice. I'm very grateful to have access to this group with all of your expertise with Commanders but also the vast breadth of of knowledge of aviation generally/local knowledge and such a willingness to share. Thanks so much. Rod.
