Hi All,
The Aerodyme suggested TLC for your Commanders this month is replacement of the inadequate OAM 9102Q Main Gear Stop Bumpers with new and improved.
The objective is to provide for safety clearances at the pressure plate bolt heads, caliper bleeder screws, and bumper retaining screws; and to provide bumpers that aren’t petrified, or won’t squash and split every year or two. See the pics for further clarification of the conditions and objectives.
Each repair kit will include the FAA Approval Paperwork, instructions, the set of replacement bumpers fabricated by Aerodyme, attachment screws, and nut plates and rivets for optional compliance with CAC Dwg. 42308 ECO A-5A to change attachment of the bumpers to use nut plates instead of discrete nuts. This revision allows for fast and simple replacement of a bumper if ever required again in the future.
Please note that Aerodyme applauds the recent COG initiative to encourage owners to check the orientation of their pressure plate attachment bolts and correct as necessary. The attached reference pictures depict the bolts in the proper orientation and make evident the potential hazard of improper installation. The 9102Q-RE1 bumpers, as presented here, enforce safety clearance both from the bolt heads to the stop plates, and the bleeder screws to the walk support stringer.
The new bumpers are improved in several ways, and thoroughly tested. Firstly, the material is correct to the application. Next, the bumper area is increased by a factor of 3. Finally, the attachment screw type is changed for easier installation and improved height margin to prevent screw to stop plate contact. These bumpers are custom molded to Aerodyme’s specifications.
I can price this repair kit at $99 per airplane if at least 100 of you are interested in making this repair to correct nil clearances and/or interferences on your airplanes. For those who cannot participate the via PayPal transaction system and accept delivery within the U.S. by the U.S. Postal Service, we must charge an additional $20 to cover our greater administrative burdens. The shipping cost is $7.50 via the PayPal process, or the actual cost if you cannot participate by that method.
After this special, pricing will be $49 per leg + $125 for the FAA paperwork, so you save 56% by joining this $99 special offer.
Post here if you would like to participate, and indicate if being invoiced via PayPal is OK for you.
Thanks in advance for joining.
