MT Propeller

I have a beautiful, brand new, 3 blade MT Scimitar propeller available for a 112,112A, or 112HS. No wait time! Can ship immediately.

I still have this, if someone wants it!

would you want a hartzell in trade?

3 blade simatar about 300 hrs

I wish I would have had this conversation with you 2 weeks ago! I had someone call me that would have given top dollar for your prop. He didn't want the MT because his plane is yellow, and it wouldn't have looked very good with a white prop.

I'll let you know if I hear of anyone that might be interested.

Any112 drivers out there that have a 3 blade Hartzell they want to trade in? I have an overseas customer that wants one. They fly in and out of a lot of undeveloped airstrips, so I think the Hartzell would be a better choice for them.

Carl do you still have that MT? Let me know.

Hi Shane,

The MT delivery time is around 10-12 weeks. Email me directly and I'll fill you in on the customer's details.

I just ordered another MT Propeller from Germany. Delivery time is down to 7 months from 10 months, a year ago. Now is a good time to order - before the summertime price increase! If anyone else is interested, Call or send me a PM:-)

Hi Carl. Just curious .. can't help but ask. 2021- 12 weeks for delivery, 2025 - 31 weeks.

COVID.

7 months is a huge improvement

Ok Carl. Give me the bulletin points again on why I need an MT? You know I have the Hartzell 3 blade. It only has about 175 hours on it.

By the way, I gave your name and number to John Cagle, a fellow COG member (new member) in Lubbock who’s looking for a 3 blade, maybe an MT?

MT for 112:

1) 30lbs lighter - huge increase in useful load. Combined with an EarthX battery you gain nearly 60lbs.
2) Quieter - metal resonates sound, composite materials absorb sound.
3) Newer technology - 2000's era tech vs 1940's era tech.
4) Less expensive - MT is about 2 - 5K less expensive than Hartzell. Hartzell has monopolized GA over the last few years. If it weren't for MT giving them some competition, Hartzell props would be even more expensive.

I shared this on another MT prop thread here, but I just installed a MTV-9 on my 114 (purchased through Carl)
-The weight savings helped a lot to offset the dual electronic ignition on the firewall. (Two 6 cylinder coil packs are heavy)
-So much smoother than the 3 blade Hartzell that was removed. (I'm still convinced something is wrong with it...sending it out soon for evaluation)
-Dynamic balanced to 0.02 IPS. I've had this thing 7+ years, and it's never been this smooth. Static wicks are rock steady, no more glare shield vibration. The avionics and whole airframe are thankful.
-With the reduced weight of the spinning mass, the engine cranks over about twice as fast as it used to.
-Haven't pulled out the official yard stick, but take off roll is noticeably shorter. Climb rate is better by a noticeable amount.
-Cruise is same or better. Maybe 2-3 kts faster.
Not sure if the MT is that much better, or if there was something truly wrong with my Hartzell (TBD). I know a lot of people have had good luck with the Hartzell. But first impression with the MT is very positive. The smoothness was my #1 hope. The improved take-off performance is just an added bonus.

 I’m dreaming of a white MT…
Just like the ones other people know…
With less weight than my Hartzell…
And smoother than anything I’ve known…
