MOHAVE SPACEPORT FLY-IN

California, Arizona, Nevada COG'ers,

It's been some time since we've had a gathering and it looks like we're in for some improved weather in SoCal. So plan on joining Carl Lee, Joe Cavanaugh and I at MHV on Sunday, April 3rd, 11:30 am for lunch and Commander chat at the Voyager Restaurant, on the field.

Hope y'all can make it.

Gonna try to beg a ride in one of Rutan's projects while you're there?

Of course, why pass up an opportunity like that? ;)

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

I am hoping to make the trip Sunday. It will be good to catch up.

Starkey LIVES! Good to see you post again. Coming to Sedona? Have something for you.

I'll be there...

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Great! Sounds like about 6 or 7. Should be ample parking in front of the Voyager Restaurant.

Carl Lee is flying in with Bill Evans, the owner of the AOPA Commander. You'll recall, he bought it from the winner shortly after it was awarded.

Look forward to seeing everyone on Sunday.

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Vince,

I am sorry but I will not be able to join you on Sunday. My transponder died on the way to Catalina today, so I am grounded until I can get a new one next week.

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Thomas,

My dead transponder is a Narco AT 50A. I am trying to decide what to replace it with. Narco is bankrupt and any other transponder means that I will need to have the panel rewired to install it. So, I am researching transponders this weekend. Any advice?

Dave,

Thank you very much for the invite, but after the transponder failed yesterday, I accepted an invitation to tomorrows La Jolla Concourse. A great show of expensive classic cars on the grass at La Jolla cove.

i am looking forward to meeeting all of you at sedona. My wife and I are planning to attend.

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Here's a couple of ideas for a quick or maybe longer fix!

Your Narco AT-50 is tray and antenna comptable with the Narco AT-150 and AT-155... Also Narcos new digital AT-165 slides right in, so some options short of total rewire... Many used and overhauled units avail and new AT-165's out there. Have AT-150 in my Bonanza and have considered lots of these possibilities?

Regards, Alan

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Gentlemen:

The forecast winds in the high desert don't seem to be very friendly tomorrow. Let's keep a close look on the forecast. If it doesn't change for the better, I'm inclined to cancel.

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Vince,

Thanks for the invite to the AZ bunch... Thought about it, but couldn't make it work... Hope everyone has a great lunch.

Look forward to meeting you at Sedona.
