Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Guys,

Looks like the winds are blowing 13 G21 as of 9:20 local directly from the south. A little beyond my limited talents!

Mr. Starkey, will be coming to Sedona in September? Its been awhile my good friend.

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Thomas,

My dead transponder is a Narco AT 50A. I am trying to decide what to replace it with. Narco is bankrupt and any other transponder means that I will need to have the panel rewired to install it. So, I am researching transponders this weekend. Any advice?

Dave,

Thank you very much for the invite, but after the transponder failed yesterday, I accepted an invitation to tomorrows La Jolla Concourse. A great show of expensive classic cars on the grass at La Jolla cove.

i am looking forward to meeeting all of you at sedona. My wife and I are planning to attend.

David
Dave, I have a yellow tagged Narco transponder at the Hangar still in the box. It was removed when I did my panel upgrade. They had to repair it, cause the shop broke the knob off during the removal. I believe it's a AT-155. Make me a offer!

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Thomas ... if that does not work, email me to scott@truen.com
I know a guy at KHAO, Hamilton, OH (the famous Birdstrike Bill's home strip) who is huge in used avionics. I think he has everything.

Thomas,

Please call me at 925 785 6248. This sounds great. lf we can reach a price you like, I will take it. Also, can you please check and see if it is a 150 or 155.

thanks,

David

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

A bit windy, but, what a wonderful fly-in and lunch with Vince, Carl, and Bill.
Wow, I got to meet and talk with Burt and Dick Rutan, simply amazing!

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Nice wing ornament...:D

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Wing ornament.....humm seems I remember a thread on here about getting in and out of a Commander. That's the way I sometimes crawl out but not nearly as graceful and certainly not worthy of a picture. I know, I know that's not what happened here.............

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Add at least 5 knots?

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Just be careful taking those shots!

Now that's how you get in and out of a Commander
Like your in a Whitesnake video!!! :D

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

It is clear the California air agrees with N27007...and Paul sees all sorts of extras including the normal 5 knots for his wing mod!

Who cares about Burt and Dick? I'm going to start a Google search for the blonde.

Dave,

Last time we heard about someone stepping out onto a Commander wing in flight he was wearing a parachute.

Dave,

Any way to superimpose that ornament on the wing of 37W? :D

Re: Mohave Spaceport - MHV

Oh man! Sorry we missed out on that. We were actually flying 624BB that day in the High Desert. It was calm skies.

And your definition of calm skies is?

Actually it was calm at altitude, but the approach and landing at MHV was..... let's say "challenging"
