Looking for a birthday flight for my Father who was a Rockwell engineer on the 112/114/115. OKC area

I have an unusual request. My father’s 85th birthday is this Friday, June 11. He was an aerospace engineer for Cessna in the 60’s and early 70’s. We moved down to OKC in 1975 to work at Rockwell and he worked on the Commander singles until production ceased and then again when Commander Aircraft Company resumed production. We used to fly 112/114 all the time when I was young. I think it would be a great birthday gift for him for someone in the local area to take him up for a ride like old times. I am willing to pay for fuel/maintenance/time.

He’s in good physical shape and wouldn’t have any issues flying.

If anyone is interested, please give me a call or text. My name is John and my number is 405-590-7494

John; Don McCosh is still helping our Commander community now and then. Couple good owners close by. I'm sure they will chime in.

John,

My name is Sean and I am in the Tulsa area, close enough for a flight for you. I would be more than happy to take your father up for a flight. My number is 918-557-6957, feel free to call me and we can make it happen this weekend. I have a 114.

Well done Sean!

John - your dad was a dang good engineer. Tell him "great job" for all of us!

This is a great group! Several members reached out and are willing to take him up. I believe we have a flight Saturday. Thanks everyone!

Sean ... great stepping up to the table. I'm sure that it'll be a memorable flight.

I was able to take Don, his son and nephew up yesterday. Glad to do it. After 1.4 hour flight we talked for quite a while and then he went to his birthday lunch with family. Otherwise, we could have kept up the conversation indefinitely.

Mr. Gorman beat me to it. He was contacted privately and jumped on the opportunity. Thank you Mr. Gorman and glad the Commander group is always willing to take care of their own!

Good Robert. Nice knowing Don was back w his Commanders. Also good he didn't need to write you up for any repairs. ;)
thanx, Sean for offering as well.

Just seeing this! I, by far, don't have the nicest AC11 in the area, hell, I can only make that claim when the area only includes may hangar, but I'd gladly take him up if this comes up again.
