We will have lunch there or drive a short distance. (We will have several cars.) Hang out that afternoon however long folks want. Just tell the tower “Progressive Taxi to Bird Cage Hangars” and Taxi ALL the way to the back row. ​
RAIN DATE: SUNDAY NOVEMBER 8th-SAME TIME.​

Hope All'ya'all make it ... Angelo's place has to be seen to be believed ... and you can also oogle over this year's COG "Favorite 114" Award winner -- Super Commander. Maybe he will zip you around the pattern.

If you are concerned about the Detroit Bravo airspace, don't be. Our controllers are great. Anywone coming from the east can come right at metro DTW and they will fly you right overhead -- just be prepared to drop in to YIP fast. From the South, west or north, no problem ...just watch the rings. I will let YIP tower know a gaggle of Commanders are coming and they will taxi you back. Might be wise to study the taxi diagram a bit. Just tell them "Progressive to Birdcage" and let them point the way. We are on the NE corner of the field. Self-serve gas right at our turn-in is usually one of the cheapest around.

When you taxi to the LAST row of the Birdcage, coming straight east, at the end turn south and Angelo's Man Cave is the last hangar on the right. On the left, you will see a huge Green hangar that houses a KingAir. You can park right next to it, on the North side. It will make sense when you see it.

Looking forward to seeing a big gang.

Sorry I won't be able to join youz guys. (unless the east coast is a mess wx wise) That weekend we are supposed to fly to DC to catch my daughter's fall concert. Drink a few adult beverages for me.

Sounds like fun. Concert is @ 3:00p which is an awkward time to make the cavern visit. Otherwise, I'd be in for it. Blair is the principal for her instrument and missing the concert mit die co-pilot would be like separating that Mama grizzly on the sand bar from her caribou. Good luck with that... ;-)

Bill aren't you and your family being a bit unfriendly - surely the concert performance could have been moved to the dramatic setting of the Luray Caverns.

Think too of the TV show opportunity, local Luray TV could broadcast it, only to be picked up nationally and then who knows Yo Yo Ma or someone would have invited her to perform.

Its still not too late I could contact the person who cleans and vacuums up the airplane Yo Yo Ma charters and this could be arranged!

I would have loved to stop by, I will be flying out this weekend, however I will be seated in Michigan Stadium during this time. Probably our last chance for a win this year the way things have disintegrated.

Whomever is flying in to KYIP, make certain you don't fly over the stadium in Ann Arbor below 3000'msl.:eek:

Purdue did beat Ohio State. Perhaps it will be a blow out (us Spartan's like when Michigan get beat) and you can join us before halftime. We are only a few minutes away.

Todd ... that is some kind of loyalty, flying to see those boys the way the are playing. After watching RichRod on the sidelines, how he continually browbeats and humilates both his players and his assistant coaches when he knows damn well they are on camera, I am no longer backing the Blue unitl he leaves. Terrible choice. Being tough is fine ... but his attitude really puts me off. He is on his way to becoming a genuine Bobby Knight!

Hope we see you at the cave!!!

Hi all, Sorce here.... I'm sorry that I have not written, but it has more to do with work than "spending my money"...I wish.(I just finished filming for the discovery channel, look for me in late january regaurding advanced techniques in computer navigated total joint replacement surgery...CRAZY.) I look forward to seeing you at the "cave-In". If you can't make it this time don't worry we can include it in the 2010 Great Lakes tour if you are interested! I also wanted to let you all know how GREAT it was to meet you at the 2009 COG meeting; you are a wonderful group of people and know how to have a good time!... also, when you meet my wife I want to make it clear that I will have to plead the 5th!!?! Wish I could make the trip Angelo.

Just too long a flight (money) for me for a single day.

Will definately make it as part of the GLCOG tour when it's scheduled. That was still one of my best flying adventures.

Angelo wish I could make it too but I am on a family visit in Pittsfield IL.
