Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Opps didn't post in New Adventure but in

Maintenance Items new thread -
Why We fly & Responsive Maintenance

Besides my beautiful flight write-up it also covers what Scott & Angelo's mechanic Rick & assistant Kelsey did for me on a Sat morn in Willow Run - real time fix for a loose exhaust pipe right after they did a scheduled oil change for Angelo's Super Commander.

Enjoy the Angelo Sorce hangar party wish I could come.

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Let me be the first to thank Angelo for really rolling out the red carpet at his beautiful hanger. Words alone cannot convey just how nice it really is. I will post pictures in a few minutes. I have a feeling nobody is leaving hungry or thirsty as Angelo had it all there. Great hospitality and it was nice to see everyone as we do not get together often enough. Thanks again Angelo!

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Attached are some of the photos of the mancave! As you can see words do not do it justice! Oops, this one is of Scott's hanger. I was afraid of getting H1N1 just from walking in the place. Yuck! For such a clean plane how can you have such a dirty hanger?

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Below are the actual pictures of the Angelo's mancave. It was truely a sight to be seen with it's 50" plasma TV, full kitchen, loft upstairs, fine comfortable furnature, tongue and groove woodwork and wall of big game that Angelo has bagged throughout the world I did not want to leave to return to my simple man's home.

That is a cave, indeed.

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Nice... cave DELUXE! (is there any room for a plane in there?)

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Angelo,

Please let me know where to send my soiled sheets! I'm certain to have 2 or 3 wets dreams tonight about the MANCAVE! What a place!!! You are the luckiest S.O.B I know, except for your hair!!!!:D

Our sincerest thanks to you, your gorgeous wife Natalie(sp) and beautiful kids for your hospitality. The food was outstanding, the company(except for Scott) was great, the after-dinner cigars were superb and your MANCAVE is to die for!!! Even the WX Gods blessed us with a glorious day!

These photos don't do it justice, but Blaine wanted some pictures. Here ya go amigo.

See y'all soon.

P.S. One photo is of Spartan Stadium in East Lansing, Mark B. asked to have it posted.

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Thanks for a great afternoon Angelo. Betty's dad thoroughly enjoyed himself and so did we. Good food and great company. I thought I had a nice hangar, but I obviously need to do some catching up! Glad we could finally meet the wife. There are others in the group who claim they have one (i.e. Scott, Mark, etc.) but we never seem to see them. We'll be taking you up on that dinner sometime soon. Good to see everyone else - Gary, Karen, Mark and even Scott!

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Sorry I missed the party at the Water Buffalo Lodge er...ah....excuse me "Mancave".
It looked like a good time was had by all. I, like Bill B. aka...Birdstrike Bill, was at my Miami University daughter's swimmeet, where they were kicking some BGSU Falcon's tail feathers. Anyway, hope to get up there next time. Any of you U of M fans got a line on two tickets for the OSU/Michigan game on 11/21. Would love to fly up to Ann Arbor and catch the annual clash of the titans. Thanks.

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

It's only one titan now.

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Todd ... I felt for you flying all that way to see that debacle.

Todd & Mike ... to add to Michigan's misery, Miami U beat them Friday night in Hockey, then my wife and I went to the Saturday night game and saw MU beat UM 5-1 ... and it wasn't that close. UM came unglued and at one point there were 8 guys in the penalty box -- 3 from Miami and 5 from Michigan. Miami was ranked #1 last week nationally, Michigan #4.

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Hanging around Angelo's Man Cave Hangar, with the fine Scotch, Cuban Cigars, 72" plasma TV, and more animal trophy's on the wall than your average Cabella's Superstore, made me wonder how I could ever compete. I just put a deposit on this hangar with a nice grass strip, with the condidtion that the coyotes stay with it.

Hey ... its a start!

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Scott,
Where's your MANCAVE photos? The photo-shoot model is asking!

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Here you go! For the voyeurs ... you may wonder how Angelo fit this in after looking at the initial picture (thre appears to be not nearly enough room.) Angelow has the full box hanger and took the corner of the "T" hangar behind him. The older fellow in the picture is Betty Murphy's father, in from Rochester. We were lucky that Willow Run has high fences and a security card system, because P.E.T.A. was protesting Angelo's mancave just outside the gate that day.

Maybe the fly-in should have taken place in November, then, instead of October! :D

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Yeah, what knucklehead thought end-September/early October was a good idea??? :p

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Ain't than somethin? You just never know up here, I guess. Last weekend was gorgeous as well! But the week before that, frost every morning.

Re: Dr. Sorce"s mancave/hangar luncheon

Definitely need to make the pilgrimage to Dr Angelo's one of these days.

Speakn' of nice weekends,... my lowly normally aspirated 112 plugging along w/ a 2000 hr motor dialed back to appx 65% was streaking toward DC on Saturday in the high 170's. (and periodically in the 180's!). Even better, only 10kts of headwind most of the way coming home today and dead flat smooth going both ways. Must have built up some serious flying kharma somewhere along the way. :-D

Think it's too much asking for a repeat in a couple of weeks when I have to make the same trip again? :-O
