I have done a lot to make my 112 how I like it. I am content with it as long as I don't look at Moazzam and some other owner's panels. Panel envy comes on strong. Apart from that I am very happy with my plane. The only reason for a change is that I fly by myself. My wife and daughter have a slight fear of commercial flight, so getting them into my plane is a no-go. Unless I can figure out what the A-Team put in Mr T's milk prior to every flight, I will continue to fly alone.
The only option is the SR-22. Dee (wife) will feel more at ease with the parachute. Doesn't matter that most deployments in the SR22 are unnecessary, doesn't matter that if I put the cost of a parachute repack into maintenance, we would be as safe or safer (if cost of repack lessens available cash for proper maintenance). It is all perception.
Her issues are the term "1977" and a pilot with only 450 hours. Instrument rating doesn't mean anything to her. Telling her its a 2010 plane with a parachute has the perception of a safer flight.
If I every want to fly with my wife, someday I may have to make this change. Otherwise, will probably stay with 90W.
