Just a new thread to share some ongoing activities here at the fly-in.

This picture is our group that met up at Grimes field yesterday before heading over to the Hartzell factory.

We'll have a full new gallery set up for general pictures later so no need to try and upload everything here.

Bob Welsh's plane based right here at MGY. He told me a little of the history of the plane but we didn't get into all the details. Maybe he can chime in on those vents.

Neal: From what I remember, the original owner was trying to develop (or modify) a turbo system and used this 114 as its guinea pig. The plane then sat in a Arizona hangar for about 9 years (flew less than 20 hrs) and the annual was repeated each year under "experimental". The plane later sold (all tubo equipment removed except extra vents) and had its annual was done repeatedly at OK City. I investigated new cowls in 2009 when I purchased the plane but decided "if it aint broke don't fix it"

Judi can probably give you all the "real" details.

that's pretty accurate Bob. We hv a pic of 73G in rotating banner fm 2001 OKC fly in.
