Dayton Ground Transportation

It appears about half of you planning on Dayton have arranged your transportation around Dayton.

This thread is to start dialog with those that need transportation.

We have 3 basic choices

Rental Cars

Taxis

Shuttle Bus

Rental Cars are available and can be picked up and dropped off at the Aero Commander FBO. You can contact the FBO at 937-291-6370. There is a $5.00/day discount for the Commander Owners. This gives you the most flexibility. Use this thread and PMs if you are interested in sharing a car.

Taxis are available at the airport and hotel.

Shuttle Buses do not have a normal schedule to the Air Force Museum. They can be arranged and the cost shared with those on the bus. This is the least flexible especially for trips other than the museum. If a bus is used for the museum, a taxis would be the best transportation to the restaurants and bars.

The hotel has a good restaurant and bar. It is not necessary to travel for food.

Just reserved a rental (Thur PM to Sun AM).
Had a bit of confusion with the MDY identifier.
Cost $130, Is that about average for the others coming in??

Pat can you post a schedule update for Wed, Thurs, Fri Sat at this point? Coming up from the South and not sure what day I will arrive yet. Have hotel starting Wed. though.

Jim and I will have a rental car from the FBO and plan to arrive about 4 PM Thursday.

I am sure after landing we will be at the airport for about an hour. Anyone we see loitering around will be offered a lift !

Radu and I are arriving midday Wednesday and both of us have minivans rented from the FBO. I'm sure we can get you into the hotel.

Southern weather permitting I'll be arriving early afternoon Thursday. Does the hotel provide transportation from the airport?

I have really hated this Spring and Summer here in SC, the weather has not allowed for much VFR flying. I guess it's time to get serious about the IFR ticket.

We didn't reserve a car ... is there a shuttle from the airport to the hotel?

There is not a shuttle from the airport to the hotel.
Commander Aero has a courtesy car that we can use but we will need to get it right back to the airport for the next group.
