Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

update on the restaurant fm my friend George Krueger:

***

The new restaurant at the Sedona airport opened this week, the name is the Mesa Grill. Finishing touches on the landscaping are still underway. Views are nice. There will eventually be more outdoor seating under the trees. Breakfasts $6 - $12, lunches up to $15, dinners up to $35. Short walk to terminal and access to ramp. Nice brand-new facility and opened in time for the Commander fly-in.

Yesterday a V-22 Osprey stopped for fuel. shot some photos at startup and takeoff. Very cool!

See you soon at KSEZ!

George

Great stuff Judi (especially the bar part!) Thanks for the update.

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

FYI for any last minute folks looking for cars; as only SUV/minivans remain on field... use Enterprise ONLINE reservations (do not use a local call to reserve... much higher rate) and the AOPA discount. Rates will be pretty much in line w/ the on field rates (couple of bucks +/-). They will need to pick up but ofc is only 2 - 3 miles from SEZ. Most of that distance is the airport road. Very close.

You may drop car @ SEZ on Sunday and pay a $15 drop fee for airport drop or leave car/keys at Enterprise ofc on Sunday (night dropbox) and hitch a short ride to SEZ.

No long before first of the day...

Rental Car
My plans are changing for next week because of a business trip. We may need to fly commercial and leave the plane home. We will likely rent a car in Phoenix. I will not need the car at SEZ. We should be able to transfer the car and not lose it for the Commanders.
Contact me if you are interested
Pat

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

What have you rented in SEZ Pat?

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

I have a standard (or intermediate.. not sure) reserved with Enterprise in SEZ, but I will be letting that go for a car in PHX instead. Is there a need to give that to someone else?

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Bill
The car is an intermeiate

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Anyone have our webbmaster name and ph.#?

Anyone know a good intermediate stop over between Ohio and Sedona? I was thinking around OKC, but I am open for suggestions. Great restaurants or a great layover would be wonderful. We are looking forward to seeing everyone in Sedona!

Thanks,

Mike and Kim Carpenter

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

Mike,

Liberal, Kansas is not known for it's finer restaurants or accomodations, but is a great fuel stop. Lyddon Aero Center is one of the best FBO's in the mid-west. Incredible service and hospitality. There is a very unique aviation museum on the field, as well.

Monday evening is our plan.

Thanks.

Re: 2011 Sedona Fly-In News

I spent a night in Liberal once. Nice airport but smelly cattle town with no decent food.
