    advice on a 114

JBG, You may also want to let people know where you’re located. You may have the chance to meet up with one of us locally. I’ve met a few folks before to help them out with questions, answers and physically how it looks and feels. Dean

    advice on a 114

JBG, Ditto to contacting Judi. She is a font of knowledge. Also look at where you are, what/how/where you want to fly. If you’re in the mountains and flying high altitudes, a TC version might be better. Ask questions on this forum and/or the shop you have for a pre-buy. I went through...

Yoke too small for GFC 500 switches

Bob, Here is another series of posts. Search for "Cygnet/Beech Control Wheel / Yoke - owners - question/favor" - it's 5 pages long - but has some info that may help you too. Dean

What's under your Christmas tree this year?

Doug, Look at how the ear pieces attach. Halo uses standard sized sound tubes - which means easy to get connectors. I had silicone ear plugs made with "L" shaped connectors in them. This removes the need for foam pieces and makes a better fit/seal. You can make them yourself, or an...

What's under your Christmas tree this year?

I am with Neal - I have the Halo QT's - but - opted to swap out the foam ear pieces for molded silicon. They cut out the noise, very comfortable, and definitely not heavy. There will be a wait for them. My only thinking is the box and wiring seem a bit "light" in construction, but, they've...

114B and 115 - crosswind control and side slip handling while landing; yawing in flight

Max, Welcome to the group! I've only had 42w for 7 years and about 600 hours. Prior to that, it was Arrows, Archers and various 152, 172, 182s. Here are my answers to your points. 1. due to an "undersized tail", crosswind control on landings are "more difficult than with most of its...

    2022 Fly-In?

Doug, I flew that route this spring (KTCS - KCFO) - La Veta Pass is simple and has AWOS so you can get real time winds. Plus you have options a farther north if winds/weather aren't to your liking. Mosca Pass is very close to the north and farther north is Poncha Pass (near KANK) and that's an...

    2022 Fly-In?

It's also not bad for the folks on the west coast. If people aren't comfortable flying the passes/mountains - there are routes north and south that provide lower terrain to get east of the Rockies. Dean
