Re: Oshkosh Friday Night COG Gathering North 40 Jeez Jim, you don't think Scott took my comments personally, do you? Guess I'd best plan on bringing my own beer just in case

    Oshkosh 2017

Re: Oshkosh 2017 N1383J is on Row 538, North 40, behind red shower building. Should be there sporadically thru at least Thursday, possibly Friday. More than willing to answer your questions, based on my ownership experience since 2013, without the glowing angelic commentary.

    Oshkosh 2017

Re: Oshkosh 2017 Cessna, Mooney, Bonanzas, Cirrus, mass arrivals each individually rivaled the entire global Commander fleet. I sat in nice new modern, two-door Mooney who as a functioning resurrected manufacturer has a significant presence here yet nothing seems to be coming from Norman, OK...

    Oshkosh 2017

Re: Oshkosh 2017 I'm sorry folks but this is bull*bleep**bleep**bleep**bleep*, I've been here at Osh2017 since Saturday, seen Cessna's, Pipers, BeechCraft, etc ,etc ,etc, out the Wazoo, Commanders, NADA, frankly it's all BULL*bleep**bleep**bleep**bleep* about all the wonders of Comm anders...

    Oshkosh 2017

Re: Oshkosh 2017 Rolf, hopefully I won't need the assistance but good to know it's available. Thanks! Yes, I got caught up in the madhouse arrival Sunday morning last year when the weather finally broke and every plane started towards Ripon. Absolutely want to be on the ground this year...

    Oshkosh 2017

Re: Oshkosh 2017 Waffled on the plans for OSH17 but now that it's almost here I can't resist & I've decided to fly-in from SLC, UT. Heading that way on Saturday morning 7/22 and will be there, likely camping in the North 40 thru probably Thursday/Friday. Hope to see a good contingent of...

    Tit

    Re: Tit I target 1550F, 25"MP, 2400-2500 RPM. Of course since you've converted your Commander to a fixed-gear configuration all bets are off...sorry I just couldn't resist.

    Oshkosh 2017

Re: Oshkosh 2017 Planning on it. Weather-permitting I'll likely arrive Saturday or early Sunday and stay most of the week. Last year arrival on Sunday AM was a mess due to bad weather on Saturday and Sunday morning so lots of folks tried to arrive as soon as ceilings & visibility allowed...

    Oshkosh 2016

Re: Oshkosh 2016 Been looking for Commanders on the field at Oshkosh but no luck so far. 1383J is on the north end of Row 527, North40. Would hate to think it's the only 112/114, etc on the field

    Oshkosh 2016

Re: Oshkosh 2016 I've heard from a Utah pilot who has contacts in the OSH area that there may be some additional constraints with on-field camping this year. Allegedly there have been some "improvement" projects to the North 40 that are running behind schedule and may not be complete in...

    Oshkosh 2016

Re: Oshkosh 2016 Looks like the planets are aligning for an OSHKOSH visit this year. If weather cooperates will fly in Sunday mid-afternoon and depart on Thursday AM. North 40 camping, N-1383J...please stop by if you're in the neighborhood!

    Oshkosh 2015

Re: Oshkosh 2015 Cold beer and a comfortable folding chair are on my North 40 essentials list but not to worry if you forget them, ample opportunities to spend money on such sundries once you're there!

    112 Hot Shot

Re: 112 Hot Shot Brian, I'm curious what procedure you use with the manual waste-gate control to take advantage of the turbo-normalizing on takeoff. Do you turn it up from at a standstill while holding brakes and to what MP do you crank it in on the roll? Also, on descent to your...

OSHKOSH 2014 who is going, when?

Re: OSHKOSH 2014 who is going, when? Alas, best laid plans go awry. Unfortunately I won't be able to make the planned trip this year. Closest I'll get to OSH this year is seeing the B-29 "FiFi" overfly my house this AM giving tours in the SLC area. Quite a thrill!

OSHKOSH 2014 who is going, when?

Re: OSHKOSH 2014 who is going, when? Depending on weather conditions then and some squawks that need to get resolved before I'll likely be there from 7/27 thru 7/31, camping at the North 40. This will be my third, with last year being my first in a Commander. Just curious but on the Fisk...

    Hot Shot Conversion

Re: Hot Shot Conversion I had one of Carl's Hotshot turbos installed in a 112A I purchased last summer. I installed the turbo with the purchase so I don't have any non-turbo 112A historical data to compare to but my experience has been as follows: Operating out of a higher elevation, higher...
