  • Rob's induction system us missing a few parts, but still worth what he's asking. I can help you fill in the missing blanks.
Hi what exactly is Phil's pump and how can I get more information about it.

Phil Camarda is a member of the COG (has a 112 I believe). He is an A&P AI. As you may know, the gear system hydraulic pump has been out of production for many years so the only thing you can do is to buy an overhauled unit of overhaul you own. I believe the cost to do this is now over $3K. These pumps are junk ! in the 12 years I have owned 77J, I have replaced the pump 4 - 5 times. Phil's replacement pump is under $2K for a BRAND NEW unit that has the same form, fit and function as the original. Depending on how old you plane is, you can replace it as an owner supplied part. Installation is VERY straight forward. I replaced mine about 4 months ago and it works like a charm. It is already on several Commanders and a whole host of Pipers (that use the same pump). You can contact Phil directly at (586) 924 1974 and tell him Kiko referred you. Good luck !
    Kiko,
I can appreciate your interest. However, there needs to be more people in order to invest in the parts and R&D required to develop this product. I have learned with the Commander group that they have very little interest in items they can already purchase even at a much higher price point. We have a lot of money in the group owners. They don't care about an inexpensive warring system. Most would rather go to an avionics shop and drop 4 grand for a preexisting gear warning system.

Like said, I do appreciate your interest and faith in my ability to come up with a gear warning system. I just think I need to spend my time on other projects at the moment due to the lack of interest.

Have a wonderful Christmas and New Year Sir!
Hi Pat long time no see and just wanted to say hello, tried to email you last winter and didn't go through and did you change your email etc?

Piper PA-46 crashed in worcester laster winter, Art and I dumped the owner as we used to fly the plane but wasn't taking care of it, and owner got another nitwit pilot to fly him and flew into known icing and crashed it this winter and lucky they survived, but owner and daughter got real banged up and hurt bad and have had multiple operations etc.

We warned the owner of the PA-46 his new pilot would get him in trouble, as we often found the oil level very low and new the pilot was a nitwit.

Anyway just wanted to say Hello to you and the wife and hope your well, what did you get for a new Commander?

I saw your story but I am not on the forum much anymore, about the accident with your flight instructor and was horrifiewd he could have been so stupid and glad you were alright, looking forward to talking to you soon and will give you a call.

Hosting our usual COG Oshkosh North 40 Gathering Friday evening for anyone around. Lonnie will be there this year and Sid and Sherman almost always. Mike Wetherbee, I think. Usually, pick up 3 or 4 more. All welcome. Informal. We will have some things but if you bring something to drink for yourself and something to throw on the grill that is helpful. But we will at least have beer and sausages! snacks, etc. Always have Scotch and Colorado Whiskey.

Feel free to call or text me: 248.390.0773 or my son, Conor, 248.390.0062. Text is usually better especially if the airshow is going on. We will be back there by 6:00 PM at the latest .

Will post location Friday by Noon. Hope to have our state of Michigan Flag flying.
