Very disturbing find on landing gear Craig Cantrell Planecents planecents@sbcglobal.net Being a new Commander owner, I am trying to become more familiar with the bird. I finished replacing the ELT battery and tested it out. Put the interior back together. Brought my flight bag with me and had intentions of getting some more time under my belt. I decided to spend some quality time in the wheel wells first. Needless to say I was a little shocked when I found the RH gear trunion forward pin retaining bolt hanging out of the far side with the nut and washer missing in action! As you can see from the pic there is a washer under the head of the bolt that should be on the nut side according to the manual. I can't find any logged maintenance on the RH gear, only the left. The nut is a self locking plastic insert type. Does anyone know if there has been a service letter on this to replace it with a drilled bolt, castleated nut and cotter key? Sorry about the pics, I took them with a cell phone.
