Which Overhaul David Tubby Davidt dtubby9753@aol.com

I have made the decision, saved the cash and now its time to get it done , but which overhaul for my engine which was last o/hauled 1986 and 1700 hours ago??

Here's what I think I know:

1) Lyc new £36k some folks say the factory tolerances are cr*p, and the crank shaft scandle is a bit scary.

2) Remanuf £24k , I get a new log book and genuine zero time, but I get someone elses engine with some new parts and some used ones which meet factory tolerances.

3) Premium o/haul £22k I get my old engine back keep my log book but start counting time from MOH.parts are reused if meet factory tolerances (is that good?)

4) Standard o/h £18k I get my old engine back everything to "field tolerance" whatever thats supposed to mean.

Given I intend to keep FT for the rest of my flyiing career and can afford any of the above which do I go for and why?

Does it make much difference that my engine has been done once albeit 21 years ago?

Where do I get it done? I have heard that Barrett Precision www.bpaengines.com are the best true??

Bottom line is I want the most reliable  engine I can get for my money. I have already ruled out the 580 up grade, sorry Jim doesnt make much sense spending £45k on a plane only worth £65k.

Thanks all
