Lost the flaps for landing at Winnemucca, Nev. Not good. Over 100 degrees and high desert but there was a long runway so was able to get off and home with minimum fuel.
The problem was the 0 and 35 degree limit switches---a little lubricating of the rollers on each corrected the problem. Over the years I have done owner assisted maintenance on this aircraft (since '77) I have no memory of ever lubricating them, or any other limit switch rollers for that matter (gear, etc.) In this case I used LPS 3. Might be something for your annual check list.
