At last inspection, the A&P noticed that the air cleaner housing was loose, not attached properly at the firewall anymore. The rivets were broken. It appeared that the housing itself didn't have a back wall but the firewall served for that, and it was poorly sealed with silicone to it. Was it designed like that for weight reduction or what? Anyone has a better idea for a new housing with four sides or how should we re-attach the existent housing to the firewall??
