Nose Shimmy Chuck Rinker crinker crinker@numediaprod.com

I've read many of the old post on shimmy in the nose gear. However, at my recent "rebuild", I've had all new bearing put in the nose gear assembly, the shimmy damper has been rebuilt, a new tire installed and I'm still getting minor to moderate shimmy.

My A&P has NOT looked at it since I got my plane back, but I did talk to him on the phone and he said on the Commanders, the nose stearing has those dual turnbuckle / bungy type connections and that if they are loose, he could see that contributing.

Since my A&P isn't at my local field (my local A&P doesn't have Commander experience), I thought I'd ask here to see if there's anything else to check before / while I take it in.

Is tightening of the turnbuckles something the A&P needs to do or can I do it? I look at it as part of the control systems and would not really want to do it unless it's just a simple matter of turning the turnbuckles a few rotations to increase tension.
