My mechanic is a veritable sheet-metal whiz. He can fabricate anything. I asked him about Nose gear doors and he said, "Piece of cake -- but why not make them out of carbon fibre?" Turns out he loves working with that as well. Question... with the somewhat "custom" nature of our planes, is the idea of having Rick make 10 or 20 sets not feasable? Do they start our all being the same part? Are the 112's or 114's different? And what would be the legalities of his making them. Can we do a "Sven" i.e. leave some holes for you to drill?
How many people would be interested in either new metal or carbon fibre nose gear doors? Is there a demand? He is gung ho on the idea.
