Radio problems. At irregular intervals I get intense static interference that affects COM1, COM2, all frequencies. Magically, it seems to crop up most often when I'm being handed into approach controllers. It lasts several seconds to several minutes. It is loud enough that voices can only barely be heard, and only if I crank up the volume to the top of the range (and bring it down a little on the independent headset volume control). It doesn't affect transmission.

It's bad enough that I'm not taking it out IMC until we figure it out, I don't want to have to squawk 7600 to get home and go through all that excitement.

Any ideas?
