Damage found during upgrade Jeffrey Schweitzer dentate jeffrey.s.schweitzer@kp.org
I know these are large files, I am posting them as they were sent to me by Jim Richards.
I've been alarmed to find out about a number of "inexplicable" issues with N115CE since Jim has been inspecting the aircraft and with the engine out. Remember that my engine was subject to the Lycoming crankshaft AD and had the engine out last year, only 50 hours ago.
There's a "cut" gear actuator hose. More alarmingly, there are gouges in the engine mount--are these of cosmetic concern only at this point, or are they structural issues, and how could this have occurred? Perhaps most interestingly, there is damage to the prop control cable, from behind the fuel servo, and someone appears to have known about it and tried to repair it. The repair looks old. I can't imagine that my mechanic here would have done this without telling me; certainly he would have wanted to charge for a repair, or for replacing the part; he had nothing to gain by doing it this way. Makes me worry that this was an old CAC issue that someone knew about when I bought it in 2002.
Again, these are very large files.
