on the group you can message her at her user name Janderson or email her @ Sunco@comcast.net
She brokers Commanders as well so may have a ship you might like
She is affectionately known as the "Queen Mother" of Commanders.
Worked for them "back in the day"
Good Luck!
Hi Carl,
Saw your post on wanting help with RCM. Well, I certainly ain’t younger than you and I’m not an A&P but if there’s anything I can help with, just yell. I’ve got time and half a brain. Not looking for pay either, just would like to lend a hand if you can use one.

Thanks Bill. I'm getting old and tired. I'm hoping to find a protege that I can pass the RCM business on to. Not sure if I'll be able to find someone, but would sure like to see it continue beyond me:-)
Hi,

We are a maintenance facility based in Australia and we are seeking 114 wings as our spar caps are corroded.

Would you have any contacts who we could pursue? I have already contacted most of the major salvage yards.

Sorry to say, I don't... But if I find something I will contact you.

My floor? sorry confused.....
That's awesome!!! you were in during Desert Storm uh??? That was some real stuff going on back then!!! humvee's with plastic doors LOL... I served in Fort Drum, NY and the motor pool was full of them

I've always wanted to become an officer or Warrant officer, but ended up leaving after 4 years (after getting married) ... It was a good run!

Thank you for the info on the pump.. let me know if can connect to both wires... I would love to see the light every time the pump is running.

thanks

Marcos.

You can connect to both wires but you'll need diods so you don't back feed. Tony Varga is a smart guy (PropPilot) ask him how to wire it and I'll bet he provides a schematic.

Thank you Phil... I will reach out to him
Were you a CW2 in the Army? I was an E4 long long long time ago.

Yes, I was a CW2. Flew UH1U's and AH1S's . I was enlisted from E1 to E5. Then I went back in as a warrant and attended the flight training school. 1982 through 1993. Served in the 101st 2nd of the 17th Air Cavalry, 354th Med Evac and the 3rd of the 158th Attack Helicopter group.
Hey Phil... the other message page it's letting the respond.

Great!! thank you so much. The green wire is the gear up positive. I will attach to that for sure. Should we only attached to the gear up? How about when the gear goes down?

I was hoping to light up the indicator light every time the pump is running (either up or down) so if doesn't stop, I can pull the circuit breaker.

If connecting only to the green wire, will it light going down as well?? or just up?

I appreciate any information.

Thank you
Hi Kevin
Sorry to hear on your engine rebuild, I was wondering why you haven't been active on the website. My plane is down for a rebuild as well and expected to be done in October.
I will drive down for the fly-in this weekend sounds like fun!
Also I had reached out to you about any hangers at your field that might be available, would you know of any?
If I could get your cell, I will reach out about saying hello Saturday at the fly-in?
All the Best

Hi John, my cell # is 603-369-0862. I just took over as president of the Aviation Corporation here so I am pretty plugged into the neighborhood. Hangar space is always tight, I don't know of anything at the moment but I will let you know if I hear. Hope to see you on Saturday!
Hey Carl, tried to call you but went to voicemail. Here are the DXF files. I did a little more clean up. Glenn asked for them and I also gave it to him, but I agree with you that any design improvement should be made before anything is made.

Sorry about that. I didn't see a call from you. Did you call 805-215-2982
?
Here are the baffles in case you need them. They still need a little work.
Phil

Got a quick question for you. I ran a wire for a hydraulic landing gear pump indicator to my dash. My mechanic will install it for me, but out of curiosity and just to make sure he doing it right (I am the first one he is doing it) which wire on the pump does he connect it to?

The light on the dash is grounded, so one leg is going all the way to the back to get the positive. By looking at these pics, can you tell me where to connect the positive? It that on top of the pump?

The GREEN WIRE IS THE GEAR UP POSITIVE WIRE, NOT THE BLUE!
I have a 1976 114 and based at Pearson Field, Vancouver, WA.
On mine 4 of the inspection plates have been replaced.
Give me a call and hopefully, I can save you a lot of extra work.
Flew to Arlington last Saturday and saw your airplane on the ramp.

Ha, I'm glad you got to see it! I'll have to fly down there some time and see yours :)

So, after some thought we took it to a shop on the field and the mechanic there is going to handle it for us this time. We have an avionics install coming up in a couple weeks (that we've been waiting for since February!) and I can't risk missing the appointment because of this. It's mainly in the interest of time.

That said, the other side is bound to fail sooner rather than later, and when that happens I'll definitely tackle it myself and give you a call for pointers. I appreciate the help!

Cheers,
-Kelsey

Hi Frank, Was not active in this forum, so couldn't see your msg sooner. I'm based out of Morrisville, NC. I would be glad to connect with you sometime. I'm looking for shops where they have experience in commander repairs and maintenance. I will let you know before I fly to Charleston, would be glad to meet up sometime end of the month.

Hi Carl... hope you are good. So I'm a new Commander owner, bought N226VC in early November 2022. The engine was "high time," and it will be coming back online in the next week after a major overhaul of both the engine and the prop. So I saw you say something about a nose gear system bolt (5/16?) in the thread about the article in FLYING, and wanted to learn more about that. How would I know that I have an upgrade here, or need one?

Thanks so much!

Hi Kevin,

Congratulations on your new purchase, and welcome aboard. There might be a log book entry indicating the upgrade, if not I can guide you through a visual inspection.
If you have a minute, give me a call. 805-215-2982
Judi... I emailed you the report a couple of times, but it bounced back. did your email changed?
Carl, can you give me a call, please. I am interested in the nose gear doors.

Hey Judy... quick question: I know the commander has a dedicated page for the tail AD 2012-02-10, but my airplane has a doubler and with an STC SA01647WI, but I can't find a copy of this STC on the FAA website. This STC was installed in 2018 right before I purchased it.

I know our tail AD mandates inspections every 100 hours (if I remember correctly) but with this STC doubler re-enforcer installed, I think the time between inspections change or eliminates the AD. I am just trying to make certain.

Do you happen to have a copy of this STC?

Thanks

Marcos.
Hey Phil

Quick question: Have you ever made a baffle set for a commander 112? My is getting worn and it will be time to replace it soon. I know some guys here digited the baffle kit for the 114, do you have anything for the 112?

I appreciate it

Marcos.

Sorry Marcos not a clue for 112. I would just fix or fabricate my own. not that hard. You may want to check with an on the field Experimental aircraft builder or A&P. They can probably fix what is warn out or fabricate to replace it.
Just to make sure I am covering all bases
