Joe, just a pointer here, I read the accident report and it stated that the hydraulic pump that had less than two hours on it since overhaul, had been sent to the NTSB for examination. An overhauled pump is $3500.00 with a core charge of $2000.00 as of last week. One COG member has a freshly overhauled on for sale for $6500.00. Be sure to try and get the old pump back, defective or not. It can be fixed.

Second crazy thing. U-Haul and Ryder have a big problem with one way rental trucks, the demand for one way into Florida is tremendous as folks are moving there, They get stuck with all the trucks and trailers that they are trying to get back North. You will see rates of thousands of dollars going into Florida and almost nothing if you take one North. I have heard of customer getting a free truck if they will pull a trailer back North, just paying for fuel used.

Where is the plane stored now, the gear can be locked down if you need to move it to a cheaper FBO for storage until you can transport it.

You are going to be shocked at the prices on certain Commander parts as with all aircraft, I am sure that you are aware that the parts catalogs and maint. manuals can be downloaded from the COG site.

Good luck on your endeavor.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Hi Ken,
Thanks for the tip. I had been planning on driving down and hauling back but I'll look into the truck rental. It sure would be nice to save myself the drive down. The gear is locked down currently. The seller has paid the tie down fee for 30 days, I have yet to find out what an additional 30 days will cost, as I don't expect to be able to go retrive it within a month. I appreciate the heads up on the manuals, I will certainly be studying the maintenance manuals before I head down to dissasemble for transport!

Thanks,
Joe
Hi, I have just taken on a 112TCA S/No. 13151, and now realising parts are a tough issue.

I'd like to do my best for my customer to keep his aircraft in good order, and he seems the sort of a guy that wants a good aircraft with everything working.

I would appreciate a litte guidance in otaining the following please:-
All 3 throttle turbo-wastegate rod ends (AMM P/No.s seen to have hit a wall)
Gas strut upgrade for the door stays.
Fuel cap main seals. (We have the o-rings, and cam-locks)
Many thanks, and Kind regards,

Chris
Welcome aboard Joe.
Congrats on choosing Commander!
You will not be disappointed.
Two things for you.

I am doing an upgrade to Full Glass panel on "96B" and will have a complete set of "Legacy" avionics including the steam powered "6 pack" (full IFR) and two GNS430 WAAS GPS Nav/Comms (One which was redone by Garmin a little over a year ago) and King KFC225 AutoPilot.
I also have spare NOS Tach & MP / Fuel Flow Gauges

Secondly I have a friend in the car business that has a "hauler" by the name of Joni.
She can ship anything anywhere. (right now he has a 63 Corvette front clip coming in from Texas)
Let me know the zip codes from & to and approx. dimensions of the load.

From personal experience.. airplane repair at a foreign field is a huge PIA!
You will be far better off to get it home to your field!
I put an engine in my grandsons 150 Aerobat only 3 hours from home and it took twice as long as it should have.

If you have not committed yet you may want to reach out to Judi on the site here about finding one that is together.
If it had a prop strike you will need to tear the motor down to be legal.
Potential crankshaft damage can result form those encounters.

Janderson is her group ID I believe.
She was in sales at Commander and knows all the ships out there.
Best of luck and keep us up to date.
Clear Skies,
Bill

Hi Bill,
Thank you. I am fully committed on the aircraft. I had already anticipated the teardown inspection and truth be told, I think I'd still come out ok even if I had to do a major. The plane I bought only has the Century 1 wing leveler so I would be interested in the autopilot and definitely one of the GNS430 units, likely would be interested in the steam gauges as well. The plane I bought has a Dynon D100 EFIS and someone pulled some of the steam gauges (leaving holes in the panel) and left some of them so I'll have some work to do on the panel. What do you want for everything?
The plane is in zip code 33186 and will be going to 55429. Unsure of dimensions on the load at this point. Obviously the wings will need to be removed, but I'm guessing the tail feathers need to come off as well? Would they be comfortable handling loose wings or would I need to build a crate of some sort?
I appreciate you reaching out!

Thanks,
Joe
Hello,
I realize this is a long shot since you posted it for sale in 2022, but is their any chance you still have this prop for sale? Hartzell HC-E2YR-1BF

Hey Ken! Can you give me a quick rundown on how I might get a replacement hydraulic pump? My motor failed yesterday, and when I took the motor off, the brushes were non-existent! I have, a friend with an electric motor shop, but he isn't in the shop till Tuesday. Going through posts, but hope you may have an in!?

Any luck on the PayPal issue? I'm still trying to renew the membership and having no luck. If there is another way to renew the membership can you please let me know? My UID is IGRAKUS.

Was set up for auto-renewal but it looks like that didn't happen last year for some reason (probably a PayPal thing).

Thanks for the help.
Doug,

Thanks for the lead on the 5606, I have some ordered and will be a great help. Some of these parts are so ridiculous, I have owned many trucks with duel fuel tanks and a $30 fuel selector from NAPA have worked flawlessly for years. I am finding out many more applications for the Prestolite pump such as forklifts or pallet stackers, All the things we need are out there in the big world, We just need to find them. I have just learned to search pictures on Google,

Thanks again.

Really appreciate all your hard work on this!!
Hey Helmers - it’s been a while but thought I might take you up on that offer to jump on a call about your experience with the 115TC. I’m looking at two right now and would welcome the chance to hear what your first few years have been like. Got time tomorrow?

You would like a set of what? I sell lots of Commander products. Please let me know what you are referring to.
The rear seat rollers on this 112 are square channel iron.

Yes, they need to be machined with new bearings installed. Its about 125 each.
Morning Peter, I don't know how I missed your original post but welcome. Sorry you missed out on the other plane, I was based in KLWM and my 112 has been worked on for 17 years at Falcon who I believe also serviced the 115 you were looking at, which is a beautiful plane. Judi I believe has another Super Commander listed which is based in Nashua. I believe it was only owned for a short time by this fellow. Judi advised me on my purchase years ago and she was very helpful as I'm sure you have learned. Lastly, the Commander owners group is amazing, the knowledge and resources that the group has accessed will never let you down. Good luck in your search. All the Best, John

Thanks very much! I'm back in the fray and looking at another 115...but in the meantime I've moved to Vermont. I'm in the southern part of the state so a bit far from Aerodyne up in Burlington, but...not that far! I'm really looking forward to moving ahead on this project.

Now if I could just get past the technical glitches to get my membership renewed here! :)

Can anyone tell me how many Labor Hours to replace 112A Windscreen and if was the original 0.187” or thicker 0.250” thickness?
Hello Sir,

Re: exhaust centering parts

I need to replace one of my support arms, and would need the C clamp and hardware. Did you have measurements for the support arms, for fabrication? I have the outer arm, need the inner one that mounts close to the sump.

Regards,

Nathan
