I had a few minutes off today and browsed through the various options our forum offers, when I came across the Blogs section. It is a lonely place with only a small number of entries which fizzle out not long after they have started.

I know the general impression of a Blog is a stream of nonsense which carries nothing more than a voyeuristic fascination for what other people are doing. However, when we all have a shared interest, I think I would enjoy reading about other Commander owner's flying exploits even when they don't have a particular "forum" point to make. I often read the forum posts and think "I wonder why they did that"? or "Where were they going when that happened"?

I'm going to start my aviation blog from this weekend, I would encourage everyone to join in.

Re: Why isn't anyone blogging?

After nine years and two children I can barely get time to fly now never mind read about other people. I think I'll be saving my stories for when I'm the old man that sits in the flying club boring the youngsters!

Good one Larry,

I can relate, I'm the oldest in the office and some of my many stories are a bit dated.
One young female CPT asked me, 'John you were in the Korean War? weren't you???' OMG:eek::o
She apologized and offered; 'Well you kept talking about being assigned in Korea . . ' (two tours; 94 & 2000)
Think I was born as it was ending . . .:D

Re: Why isn't anyone blogging?

I have written a monthly column/article for Professional Builder Magazine for 20 years, next month, and they bug me to do a blog. Problem is, like you, I find I just do not have time nor do I think people would want to hear from me every day, or week. (OK, let the jokes from the rif-raf begin!)

It was worse on Twitter. I had 20 companies and another 15 or 20 I followed for business, but I had to cancel them all. Who the hell has time to wade through all of that sh*t to "find the pony in there, somewhere."?

So I canceled them all except for a couple of sports figures, mainly my hockey hero Pavel Datsyuk, because his were always so damn funny in his fractured English.

I think there is a thread for about everything here that anyone would want to read?
