Video upload question

I have a video in an MP4 format. It will not upload, and I notice that MP4 is not listed when you select "manage attachments." It is very common, so should that not be an option? Can that be updated?

I usually upload videos to my youtube account and link them in here rather than uploading
Same for pix/docs/other.

Keeps the size/quality/format constraints in my control rather than what the site will allow for.

The whole site will be updated in 2019 and will have much better media handling capabilities, but the suggestion for putting on YouTube and then linking is a good one anyway. More bandwidth for streaming is available and there are some nice options for improving video & audio quality.

I link photos and videos through Smugmug, a subscription I have maintained from my advrider.com days.
