Looking for advice on airports close to a little town called Indian Springs, NV. It's about 50 miles north of Las Vegas. The Army is sending out to the Air Force Base there--Creech AFB to play with all the Predator Unmanned Aerial Vehicles. Moving to North Vegas and basing out of the North Vegas Airport seems the only option but hoping some of you West Coasters have some recommendations. For those interested, I'll be moving there in October.

As for your question, I think I remember someplace pretty close to Vegas, I'm not sure the name. It might be something like the 51st area, or 51 area, or AREA 51 thats it...

From what I remember it's really big, a few 15,000 foot runways, hidden cameras, and ground sensors for security. They even run their own airline shuttle service twice a week to and from the facility.

I'm sure they'd love to have a Commander on the field.

As the post has gone well away from topic, I'll close by retracting my initial request. Army leadership has decided I can stay at the Pentagon until next Summer. No Vegas for me. Now to just get 08W back together.
