Hi all UK and EU Commander Owners, Pilots and Folk who just like Commanders,

It's been far too long since we last had a UK/EU Commander's Fly-In and I think we should fix this.

If there's enough support, I'll arrange for a UK\EU Fly-In for summer next year (2020), and am thinking Sywell or Kemble (Kemble was the venue for the last couple of years). Since it's a 2020 fly-in, we could also get 'stuff' made such as T-Shirts, Baseball Caps, Flight Bag Tags etc., but 'm getting ahead of myself here.

If interested, please pop a reply back, and also spread the word to those Commander owners ......

Thoughts??

Hugh

Hugh, I'm based in Canada but often visit "Home" in Southampton. Depending on dates and locations if it works out I would be interested in showing up in 2020.

I am based in Georgia, but would love to get a ticket over, Got a real cheap flight for Christmas for only $499.99 return from Orlando to Manchester, Thomas Cook.

Keep us posted, do not need a Tshirt unless is says Brexit.

Life is a barrel of fun.

Ken

I am spending a month in April but would also show up depending dates!

Son flies 777's for United. Free ticket . . .
Don't forget the poster in your souvenirs . . .

John,

Your son could adopt me, I do look very young and have to show my drivers licence to buy beer, But then you would be my grandfather.

Life is a barrel of fun

Ken

I'm both amazed and disappointed...... The only reply I've had is from USA and Canada, nothing at all from the UK or Europe.

Ah well, at leas it will save me a bunch of time trying to arrange it !

I am based at Kemble and was involved in the two fly-ins some years ago. Glen Moreman at Kemble is supportive and has asked if we want to repeat the event, they would be pleased to have us. I am not sure how many UK Commander owners (about 60 and Guernsey about 10) are members of COG. Last time I gathered the names and addresses from G-INFO and sent out a mail shot. Flyer magazine will add it to their lists. Jim Richards attended the last fly-in at Kemble.

I remember seeing a YouTube Video of 2 pilots ferrying a 114b across the Pond. How about it gang ... that would be one fly in for the Books!

Hey there,

we would be very interested in an european commander fly-in!
I know a few Commander Owners in Germany and Europe so maybe I can give them a shout out.
I'd love to see some kind of meeting here in the EU.

Hey there!
I'm based in Austria and would appreciate a fly in very much.
I would need a date soon to organize the trip to wherever at my work.
I would also ask my partner and another commander pilot to join me.

Hello Hugh, I missed your original post somehow, I would be interested in the fly-in, I attended the last one at Kemble, there are also 3 other Commanders at Stapleford who may be interested, I will pass the word around, Fred

Hello Hugh, following on from my previous post, I have heard back from the other Commander owner/pilots at Stapleford, we have 4 Commanders and 7 pilots who would like to attend the fly-in. I know it must have been quite annoying to not get much response from your first post, I'm sure the lack of response was down to not been picked up by everyone rather than lack of interest, Fred

Hi Hugh

I’ll be there unless it’s in April, having the interior done.

I'd be joining as well. And I can offer own airfield in Germany (EDNW) - no fees - Gras 1000 Meter effective runway.

August 8th, when corona is safely over - hopefully. Then would be in EDNW, Southern Germany. Hotels in walking distance. Flight into the Alps from there is approx 20 Minutes.

That looks optimistic from a British perspective. Right now we can only fly in England, can’t even go to Wales and only with social distancing. Biggest problem is a two week quarantine when re-entering the country.
I hope it’s possible but pessimistic.
