Hi all.

My AP and I are about to do this. Before we reinvent the wheel...any shortcuts in this procedure i.e. what not to do because it is not necessary?

Make sure that you have new gaskets on hand, Carl should have them. carry spares

So no one changes these at annual/does am Owner Assisted annual??

Don't know about the hotshot but I never touch the turbo gaskets unless I have a reason to disassemble something. They will last the life of the turbo.

Same as Joel & Vince-only changed when Engine, exhaust components work or Turbo overhaul. However, we recently discussed the Turbo Clamps -tension and construction integrity. Also the clamp (s)/ Bands have a specific tensioning specification(s) and Safety wiring techniques.

These clamps are best left alone unless you have to disassemble the exhaust. On the TC -- we'll have quite a bit of exhaust residue around the joints and you learn to accept "normal". I have no experience with your hotshot exhaust.

If you do take them apart -- heed the Lycoming SB. You don't want to be roasted at altitude.
