Gang,

The Toronto Commander fleet are setting up a Commander Fly In Clinic feature Vermont's Jim Richards from Aerodyme. We have 6 Commanders who will be participating in the Clinic. The fly in will be both a Social event as well as a maintenance clinic. We are looking at the week of Sept 21st.

AirPartners at Toronto Buttonville (CYKZ) have offered up their hanger, tools, jacks and mechanics (supporting Jim's efforts) for the Clinic. For our American owners, we have Canada Customs on the field at CYKZ, as well as all of the usual FBO services.

If you're interested in attending, please let me know. Space is limited in the AirPartner's hanger.

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

As discussed. FFOM is there.

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

Hi Phil,

We will likely make it with CGFNC.

All the best,

Pete

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

I'd love to come ... will depend on work schedule as I may have to leave for Porltand that same day. Won't know for a few weeks.

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

Hope you can make it Scott. It would be great to meet you ! Now that FFOM is no longer a hangar queen, I can fly to events !

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

I would like to attend , let me know when more information is availible

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

Would be interested (c-gake), depending on the work too. Would need rigging!

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

I don't know my schedule that far ahead at this point, but I will certainly make every effort to participate.

Don

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

Gang,

Wow, so far we have 10 aircraft interested in the fly in clinic. More information to come.

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

Depending on work load may be able to bring C-GKMZ down from Cyts

Phil by "The week of the 21st" are you meaning the weekend of the 21st and/or 22nd? Please advise.

BTW ... I think "Burlington Executive" should be forced to change its name! I wanted to fly in there week before last ... my assistant called and called and called and could find no one to get me a rental car, not even Enterprise which was less than 10K away. And trying to find a taxi ... no one wanted to go out there. She finally found a guy who would do it for $100 from Burlington to Oakville!!! Hard to cater to business travel if you cannot get ground transportation. I needed some work time, so I took the VIA rail from Windsor to Oakville. Business class. It was fantastic, quiet, smooth, on time. Food was even pretty good.

Last week, I did fly into Peterborough, Kitchener-Waterloo and Stratford. All good places, especially Stratford.

Have enjoyed Stratford on several occasions. Did you catch a play or two whilst there?

Sure thing, Phil. It was a last minute decision to divert to Kitchener to clear customs ... had planned to do it at Peterborough but Canpass informed me they were closed on Sunday afternoon. We were there less than 15 minutes.

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

Well....for 15 minutes there were two Commanders on the field ! Its a great mix of a little/big airport.

Customs there was quick, friendly, easy. Not like my experience a couple of years ago in Oshawa where both the Green Angel and I were just barely short of being strip-searched by a uber-ornery little *bleep**bleep**bleep**bleep*-kicker babe of a customs agent. I still have nightmares about her.

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

she was too ornery so they moved her to the Detroit border crossing. They are trying to recruit friendlier more customer centric field agents now ;)

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

If this meeting is on the 21 of september, is there any requirments to cross the border, do you have to join canpass , whats the scoop?? Steve

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

If you are talking about Toronto ( or anywhere across the border) you'll need to run the EAPIS gauntlet. Don't wait until the last minute. You already have your aircraft customs sticker, correct? 406 plb at least if not ELT?

Re: Toronto Commander Clinic

I dont have a 406, just old ELT, what else is needed, I just d/loded application forms Steve
